Die Lit as a whole is super layered and detailed if you pay close attention to whats going on. it seems minimal at first glance but songs like Long Time are super intricate with how the adlibs are placed and what effects are chosen for them. you can tell that Carti and the engineers put a lot of thought into making it sound the way it does. I'm not seeing that type of attention to detail in Earl's newer music.

You do realize I can make this exact same type of post from Earl's perspective but with more emphasis on the lyrics you know that right?

Like I said, the double standards on this KTT Alley site is hilarious my g.

I mean just read his twitter posts, the kind of music he makes, his overall vibe

He’s very counterculture, that’s what a hipster is

I fail to see how his artistic style of music makes him a hipster, I mean he basically f***s with all kinds of rap music coming out today, seems more like you just regarding him a hipster because he's not like every other mainstream artist, terrible example imo

Eh I think that we adults just try to help those kids bc being stuck in a place where you constantly worry about some dumb music social status thing is toxic.

Why do you get to define what’s toxic and what’s not.? Cause you’re woke?? Let them go on their journey and figure that out for themselves. We can’t expect the kids to see things the way we do. Did we see it the same as those above us? Most of us probably didn’t. Sometimes it’s okay to just chill and not try to have control over everything.

The youth can still use a good advice. And either way, I still have the right to call bullshit when I see it and keep it moving. Bc lbr it's pretty corny to sit behind your screen and have a whole discussion about how 'reddit' or whatever a fan base is.

  • Riveting, come get to know me at my innermost
My family been this anguished now I need atonement
I set the goal, half my wings is broken
I spread the other for my brodie OD

there's nothing lazy about that my g.

And the funny thing is I only f***ed with half of the EP but this whole little thing that's popular to start hating niggas that go left on the lyrical tip is maaaaaad corny son.

If it’s corny then let it be corny. I don’t even know what the reddit comparison is, probably because when I read a thread or it’s responses that I could care less about then I just move to a different thread. It’s better to find or create your niche than it is to try to change one. If you know anything about kids, they will go against you even if you’re right out of “I’m young, you’re old” spite. Nothing wrong with a piece of advice but you’ll be wasting you’re time trying to prove a point they don’t care about like I may be doing now.

And use the "lol look at earl's fanbase" excuse like 99% of most black rapper's fanbases ain't white my g.

Like it ain't the niggas coming out to people like Uzi and Keef (both niggas I like btw) shows son.

Insults like "hipster" aside, if we take a look at history, going against the grain musically results in a longer lasting impact anyway. It's the right thing to do as a self respecting artist.

The problem is, at least in my experience, is that most of us black people just have higher priorities and responsibilities or just too broke to go to an overpriced show. The going rate for tickets just like everything else these days are getting insane. The crowds being mostly white at all our fav rappers shows almost directly correlates with the people there being privileged. Unfortunately, most of us black people just don’t come from privileged backgrounds or feel like wasting that kind of money when we could just smoke and bump a tape in the whip or at the crib.
When’d jcole did his dollar and dream show for only a $1, it was almost all block people. So it’s definitely about the money. It’s not a fair representation of the fan base though.

    Exactly my g.

Niggas wanna use "concert" as an excuse where most these rappers make they money from festivals, and when you ever see a nigga at a Coachella?

And it's surveillance. I live in NYC, and no nigga is gonna go to any venue where the hip hop police is on high alert just WAITING to annoy the first nigga they see that "looks" suspicious my g. (shoutout to Pop Smoke having the song of the summer and STILL gets banned from Rolling Loud JUST for being affiliated)

Ignance, I love ya but you better than this. I can make the same generalization about how Carti's "omg minimalist" ass makes music for hypebeasts that hate dictionaries my g.

Some people legit love the lyrics and "dust" production like this.

I hate that it's become a meme to diss MF DOOM-style of rap but I don't say those niggas can't read.

bro im not generalizing anything sure theres people that genuinely do enjoy the music, but some of these niggas dont even be spinning these artists that they d***ride lol

look at dannys new s***, everyone on social media hyping him up and sucking his d*** saying AE is the greatest album of the decade etc and it only pushed 6k, all these indie hipster niggas be just capping lol

and im on both sides of the coin regardless, i prefer more lyrical-focused rap but i can enjoy ignorant feel good s*** too lol but ik what youre saying bro

thats just the internet my g. They overhype everything, if you went by the internet you would think Gucci's new music was actually getting burn like that (but they're not. Sorry. Still a hip hop legend though)

it's funny cause I always thought atrocity exhibition was actually a mess (but I always prefered son's Hybrid s***)

There's "hipsters" on both sides, that genius video for Carti fans was the most cringe s*** I've ever seen. But I see what you mean son.

This is the sad thing about hip hop selling out. It’s not really going crafted for you’re young black boy trying to make it out the hood anymore because they aren’t the ones going to the shows. The labels are going to make them cater to the people paying the bills. It good to see our people making money I guess but it sucks that it has to come at the expense of our treasured art form. Hip hop isn’t for black people anymore even if it’s by black people.
