I honestly think this country has 1 or 2 more centuries before it becomes something completely different than what we would have seen in our lifetimes.

Yes, in fact it just might be even more powerful than ever before. The US alone has enough power to basically create an empire and end up making the world a one-nation world.

Not saying it will be bigger or more powerful, but it's possible.

Something could also go terribly wrong resulting in the US shrinking significantly in size and power resulting in us having a major downfall similar to Britain during the first half of the 20th century.

This what I was thinking, we got the largest and most powerful security and military in the world. I’m afraid they deadass gonna make a one world government, it’s like we’re on track to do it

It seems too realistic and plain easy tbh. If Trump wanted to achieve world domination, he could and we would be forced to deal with it. The US is almost too powerful when you think about it.

I think the US alone has more military power than the next 14 countries combined.

Gonna make the bold claim the US gonna be split in 2 in 50 years. Once all the old f***s of now are dead and new people come in you going to straight up civil war.

If wars were still fought in a “conventional” military way would 100% agree, but realistically wouldn’t any attempt to do this, if it involved taking on rival superpowers, just end in nuclear annihilation on both sides?

Nominally a long ass time, if you mean the institutions literally collapsing, the capitol building being uninhabited, the military bases unoccupied, etc.

If you see America in the more aspirational sense, as a set of ideas and principles, we’re pretty close to losing that battle imo, if we’re talking democracy instead of voter suppression, rule of the many instead of the few, regulatory capitalism instead of crony capitalism, civil liberties instead of totalitarianism, that all might decisively turn in favor of the latter in the next few decades, leaving us with a country unrecognizable to anyone with even a basic understanding of what this country has tried to represent
