I majored in Jazz Performance in college I don't want to see any more music theory s*** lmao
I would love to learn some, but im not very musical myself so it would be more as a hobby.
Haven’t made time for it yet
The piano is a great way to learn as it’s easier to visualize since the keys are all linear and black or white
@FLIZZY https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/engineering/theory-of-sound
Simply what is sound
ur link has a sxn talking about sound in environments w/ different temperatures. i don't understand the physics vocab necessary to read that rn and get how temperature affects sound, but it brought to my attn that "warm" and "cold" sounds are descriptions based on reality, so it's interesting that people can differentiate between the two kinda intuitively that being said, if u know what physics is actually saying about the difference in sound and how such is sensed and perceived differently by people depending on different temp. environments, i'd love for u to share that explanation

It’s not in my words but it has to do with the molecules expanding and contracting in higher or lower temperatures

I know chords and keys and stuff like tgat but im more interested in sound design and programming tbh
I just want to see if there’s a correlation between some things I’ve noticed. If you do let me know. Dosent have to be deep into just interested or interested to learn about it
Me
I stay away from that because I don't want to turn out like those pseudo intelectuals that only seek the same sound over and over.
Bob Marley said there's no science to it even if you copy a song exactly you won't get the same feeling. I like that interpretation, it's less about the notes themselves and more about you as an individual.
As for sound theory my friend in middle school was deaf ever since then I liked to study how echoes and sonics work not exactly in a music sense but still.
I agree with this but I also feel it doesn’t hurt to learn new s*** as long as you don’t use it as a crutch you know like “well technically the correct way is to put this note here and that note there”

Learning basic music theory isn't going to make you into a pseudo intellectual*, at most it will just change the way you go about making music since you're looking at it from a different level. There's not "one sound" that you seek over and over again from learning music theory lmao. It's just learning the mechanics of what it is you're doing.
he knows his music theory well
Kanye could barely even do drums and doesn’t like reading books.
All the musical features on his beats was played by others like Jon Brion and Mike Dean
What Kanye is good at is having an ear for what sounds good and assembling s*** but he don’t know actual music theory. Kanye can’t play no chords

theres videos of him playing piano, hes not amazing but he obviously knows how to play chords lmao 😂😂😂😂
u man keep convincing urselves that these hugely successful producers dont know the ins and outs of their craft

Cope
I think it’s interesting that there’s a science behind something as subjective as music but I never went out of my way to like learn more lmao
