Where did I mention cutting friends off? Read previous posts I replied to the guy questioning the common ground he mentioned for discussion.
Oh ok. I was just responding to what you said to me and defending the stance I’ve had so far itt, I’m not reading thru everyone else’s
My best friend of like 6 years is a trump supporter. He understand why I cant get behind that as a black man but idk we just don’t really discuss politics
he’s tried it early on and I just shut it down politely. He’s a respectful guy so he never brought it up again. Gotta draw the line sometimes. Don’t really think you should discuss politics with anyone unless it’s family or s/o. Just my rule of thumb
meanwhile the people at the top agree on every issue: whatever makes them the most money. regardless of which party's in office these people will get what they want because the lower classes are busy pointing the finger at each other.
When it concerns peoples' well being
I don't care which side you vote for but if you choose to make your politics part of your personal identity I'm not gonna be friends with you. I don't care if it's right or left, that gets annoying.
I’ve got a lot of friends that I agree with politically and a lot of friends that I disagree with politically, it doesn’t matter to me. Some of them are levelheaded and we can have conversations about it, others not so much and we just avoid sensitive topics
“We can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.” - James Baldwin
that's the way i look at it
