So I could legit get into cyber security by just getting some certifications from Coursera??

Google says cyber security salary is around 90k. And you're saying I can obtain that from some online degree?

online *cert and yes you can look bruh degrees have never mattered, bc for example look at the world before you being ran by idiots both with and without one as long as you are QUALIFIED for said job you can be hired and most likely considered.

in any job field nobody really gives a f*** if you went to an accredited/famous school they just wanna be assured you can get the job done for the six to eight hrs you're there and that's enough for most of people.

Should I at least get a degree in web dev first and then transition with cyber security certifications?

Or should I just straight up start stacking certifications from Coursera?

do what's best for you i stacked up on a variation of coursera certs i worked cyber security for the atlanta airport and am relaxed as one could be.

this is just me man i didn't see the need to pursue a degree bc that was a waste of financial resources when it could be invested in online courses of different variations in getting a diversified portfolio of certs which makes you more valuable.

So where should I start. I'm more than interested. Your idea sounds way better than what most ppl tell me

What courses should I start taking? Is there like a road map to this?

    Around 60K mostly student loans.

Not planning on paying any of it in hopes that the government will cancel it eventually

that's up to you man in engaging in whatever course interests you the most, you keep asking/suggesting me to put the trajectory of where you wanna be in my court man, im not trying to decide your future for you man I'm just trying to give you an idea of how to get ahead and from there it's up to you.

you could start by researching all 4 tiers of cyber security and see which one would be befitting to you the most of things and go from there, i started off personally doing tier 1 but i was already in depth on stuff like that.

but here's a roadmap for you to sift through to figure out what you wanna get into:

Is web dev worth getting into ?

eh depends. its pretty accessible so theres a lot of competition and idk how hot of a field it is rn. its prob the "easiest" to get into tho

I think like 300 on my credit card

1.1 k for the taxes on my house

Like 6k left on my car.

Probably about to put myself in debt to get into school

Just go to trade school or college in canada if you are close

  • iHype

Idk why y'all are shocked at that person saying $80K. I know people who have literally 6 figures in student loan debt somehow.

Medical students usually all have 6 digit debt

  • Not in debt anymore but used to be hella in debt first few years of going into self employment
