Do whats best for you. If your boss is good he will understand and support. If not you should leave anyway

Always look out for yourself man. At the end of the day, only you can better your life and if this other job will do it, I say take it

I have a good job. great people, and environment. however, recently got an offer from a company i was interviewing with that i wasn’t taking too seriously but after looking at the perks and pay bump… it woulde be unwise to not take it. i also wouldn’t have to work hybrid anymore as they have an HQ about 20 min out from me, but it’s completely optional.
thing is, I’m currently in a new grad role and everyone i work with had been here for like 5-25 years. no one really leaves this soon. also, another a***yst on my team left this month so it’s been rough on my tm. how do i approach this without burning bridges

OP at the end of the day you have to do whats best for you, not your co-workers

live your life, not theirs. The ship was sailing for years before you got there and will continue sailing for years after you leave

    stop being so nice

  • Lol who cares? Do what you gotta do for your own career and life. You don't owe that job anything, especially if you find another one that pays better and offers solid benefits.

Just give your 2 weeks. Tell your team What you can do to make the transition smoother.

But don’t feel bad. Better pay and benefits is also good!

Put in your 2 weeks, explain it's because cost of living is nuts right now and that you can't afford not to take it, spend the next 2 weeks doing as much as possible to set the next person up for success, and it shouldn't be a problem if they have high turnover right now it's potentially expected and on them to retain talent

99% would do that same in your position. Nobody is going to blame you. Anyone tryna guilt you? F*** em

You get better pay jumping jobs than staying at the same job and waiting for a raise

  • Jul 2, 2022

We really need some type of training for this s*** in school cus the average person overthinks these situations way too much

Just tell them thanks for the opportunity but you’ve found something better.

One of my coworkers on my current contract was telling me about how they don’t want to leave because they love their coworkers. Man who gives af about them

That’s how companies take advantage of you. The only real way you ever get significant raises is by changing companies. I don’t get people hell bent on staying somewhere for more than 5 years unless it’s a truly remarkable situation for them

  • honestly only if you feel valid in the company and your management hasn't changed should you even consider this option.

don't be burnt out over a company. leave on good terms tho if you love em.

this new employer might churn you out too soon. so definitely think about what your getting into.

I'd leave tho if your baseline needs weren't being met.

ik i’ve been vague, but this would be a jump from upper 60’s to 100k in dallas (mcol city).
i consulted my parents and they were like “oh yikes that’s not that much for being 23”

yeah the pay is one thing but the benefits are amazing

besides the usual 401k match and insurance stuff

they have half day fridays, mental health days, paid volunteer days, 1.5 months of PTO from day one and it’s completely remote
