Something I've noticed is most modern hip hop goes for very clean/kinda quiet mixes like compared to rock music or edm

Personally I LOVE like some loud dynamic s*** when I listen to artists like thug or gunna I always wish s*** was dirtier

Anyways just curious what ktt thinks about this idea. Guys like slump6s or Matt ox also Carti tend to have more interesting mixes to me

slump6s mixed his own music for a while so it sounds a little less clean but still good. same s*** with babysantana, kashdami, summrs and autumn

yea u can DEFINITELY be loud AND dynamic... thats like saying u cant have high top speed while being quick like theyre not opposites

and maybe youre right that hip hop mixes are technically louder but maybe thats just peak volume/volume of the bass cus the melodic sounds perception wise dont feel that loud or dynamic generally

Raps mixing and mastering suck nowadays. Too bass heavy,not very wide so listening to any modern rap on stereos or high end headphones is not appealing,little to no details in the mixes and everything is too digital focused.
