I love how songs like this are mixed. It’s an experience and not just another interlude or song

i feel this, i noticed on some of my tracks the overcompression leads to tons of distortion. i.g. theres a limit to how loud u can make things without getting distortion

eh cheap headphones/car speakers can only go so loud

ik in my car unfortunately if the mix is quiet u cant rly hear s*** even at max volume, like its super apparent based on the mix how loud/clear/enjoyable everything is

i always go for aggressive mixes just because of that

Because you can’t just do that in the car with music that is badly distorted and ends up clipping and it overheats the amp for pushing the subs too hard

pop is sounding 10x better than 2012 pop

nah the loudness war ain’t goin away unfortunately

I wouldn’t say loudness is #1 priority but you definitely have to be somewhat in the competitive range LUFS wise
