What a movie

Spiderman 2 is the one that gave niggas hope that Marvel could survive without the big 3

Yea bruh. Mysterio was way too strong in that s***. Highkey one of the best Marvel films. Always gonna be highly underrated

Not sure if nostalgia I have with the first, I know many say the second is better than the first, but I think they are just as good as each other.

First off I wanna shoutout JK Simmons again in this one. Every single scene he has in the movie in comedy gold. The scene where he decides super man has a hero only to change his mind a minute later .

Also Doctor Octopus is an amazing villian. The actor too. Everything about him is written so well in this movie.

Only dull part I had in this movie was some scenes where his powers just randomly stop working lol. Although him trying to be peter for 15 minutes gave some hilarious scenes it just didn’t feel needed, still unsure why he lost his powers just felt like a way to extend the run time to 2 hours.

Also the CGI for early 2000’s is strangely good (besides the video game NYC swinging at the end) the movie holds up well in that regards.

Now I saw this movie once as a kid unlike 1 where I saw it like 10 times Lmfao so I remembered nothing but the movie was just entertaining throughout and I have such a soft spot for these earlier spider man’s. They are just so darn entertaining

And Spiderman 2 gives a lot of homage to the 'Spiderman No More' comics

Him losing his powers might be one of my favorite parts of the film. Raindrops Falling On My Head needle drop is iconic. Raimi is really good at the human drama. The tension in the relationships between everyone is so good. Spider-Man 2 top 5 comic book films of all time for me.

The human drama of these movies are better than any human s*** in the MCU. S*** is actually captivating and I care about the characters when not in the suit

Also the tension of this movie of who and who doesn’t know he is spider man is always good. Telling MJ he doesn’t love her was haunting cause you know how much he just wants her to know

Exactly. There’s some fun stuff in the MCU but I think they’re a little weak when it comes to drama and I think that has to do with them trying to downplay every serious moment with a quirky awkward joke. They’re very afraid of being completely sincere. Raimi even when he’s totally leaning into the campy side of things is 100% sincere about it. He’s totally committed to these characters and their issues.

I think Spider-Man 3 is really strong with its drama too but people often overlook it cause they think the venom stuff is messy and they don’t get some of the intentional camp. I think it’s still criminally underrated. It’s almost Shakespearean in how heavy some things gets in that movie. There’s a scene with Peter and Mary Jane in the park later in the film that always gets me emotional.

Iron Man 1 was nice too! I remember watching it in theaters and thought it might be my new fav Marvel movie.

Nothing like watching these as a kid. I'm jealous of the kids now, they got hella nice Marvel movies that they'll hold dear... All we had was the Raimi Spider Mans, Daredevil, and the X Mens (which the first one is corny ngl lmao, still a classic tho.)

You should watch Logan after you've watched all the X-men too.

Just finished Spider-Man 3

Can’t wait for the 4th one!

So Spider-Man 3 to me starts off great and amazing. Then falls apart in the second half

Everything about the beginning, the fight with Harry, sandman, meeting Eddie All great all these scenes are fantastic then once venom attaches itself to Peter it really falls apart. I really couldn’t stop laughing at how bad some of this movie was when he was venom man was just a d*** lmfao. Dude had the eye shadow and everything

Ok that said, now my other complaint.. Topher Grace. I thought honestly he was great as Eddie as first. Did a great job then comes along venom and ruins the character. The man is just an awful venom. I just can’t NOT picture Eric foreman from that 70’s show and the man is not threatening at all as venom. And also sandman is legit just John Cena lmfao should have just cast him (the actor for sandman was great just lol they looked so alike)

This is easily the worst of the trilogy, but it’s kinda sad cause the first half is actually really good, entertaining, the drama is at its best, and the best fight in the whole movie is that first fight against new goblin.

Next is avengers endgame i can’t f***ing wait

yeah it falls apart in the second half, at that point I jus watch it for the entertainment value of Peter finally telling everyone off after taking so many L's

man legit killed sandman, made out wit gwen in front of MJ, beat harry's ass, got eddie fired, took his girl and just used her to make MJ jealous
