I see a lot of y'all itt talking 401k, stock market, etc and while I don't disagree with that and it's best to get started on that early, the earlier the better. The reality is these days lotta people don't really have the privilege of doing this as many are in a "I need to eat today and survive this month" kinda financial situation.

That being said, OP if you get this $90K job at 25 you're doing much better than 85% of people at your age. Just relax man lmao you are in the financial situation who can afford to take some investment risks in stocks and start putting good money into your 401k.

On top of all that, you don't even know what s*** gonna be lookin like in just 10 years, and you worrying about 30-40 years down the line...just do what you can now and stop stressing over that s***. Start thinking over your retirement plans when you in your mid-late 30s. Most people are not retiring in their 50s.

im in the same boat as you OP, mid 20’s making good money in a major city. you have to put yourself in a position where you can make the most of your money. does your employer have a 401k/403b match? that helps A LOT. can you live with your parents? that helps a lot even if you pick up a few bills. see where your skills can take you and if you can make money on the side, if you have solid business sense you can make deals where you find work for other people and take a cut or something. it sucks OP but idk you can figure out how to get ahead.

if you really don’t need a connection to where you live just work remote in thailand, spain, or turkey you can make an american wage and live for little money

@op this why ever since I met my wife we just been living it up. i propsed in Rome on our first big trip together and we just been 'spendthrift' in a lot of ways ever since because we both know just how raw the future gonna be

its never gonna be a better time than now to get into that hobby you want to try, to go on that trip u got on ur bucket list, to try that new restaurant, to approach that person, etc. but all WITHOUT taking on debt

realizing that our society is in freefall forced my eyes open to all the joy I can experience in the now

Also ik its really hard to cop houses but pls stop payin rent and try to buy real estate it will help you retire more than a 401k will most of the time.

Theres still homes for 100k or less in america thats 3500 down with an fha loan and you can prob get down payment assistance too, just figure out how to get it.
