I say this because my brother is 27, been working at his company since 24 and has already surpassed people who been working there for 30+ years, now a senior manager leading $mil projects simply because he’s a very social guy. Goes to the gym with the CEO and knows everyone’s name, s*** like that. It helps if you want to progress, but I get your mindset too

Alot of people and this falls under dead end jobs and coperate jobs, None of these people really have anything going outside of work besides kids at most. Everyones miserable paying bills n s***. I kinda feel @op but you see these people 4-5 days a week it wouldn't hurt to have casual convos. But im the type of nigga to talk alot and that person couldnt figure out who i am or what i do outside of work so i never had that issue of someone telling my business

Back when I was an RN I used to have so much downtime between 12 and 5am. Just popped my headphones in and chilled.

Coworkers used to be having full on convos about my favorite artists or topics I know a lot about but I’m cool on that. They got it. Not tryna be chummy with coworkers.

I feel like I’m in the twilight zone or some s*** reading some of these comments. Y’all must be working in hell if you feel this poorly about your colleagues, damn can’t imagine not shooting the s*** and getting along with people I see/interact with for multiple hours every day. it’s possible to form genuine friendships from them as well, there have to be at least a few ppl ur cool with
