I'm currently looking for work at law firms. I'll have to work directly under an attorney and they're pretty much always way older white guys. I don't see how I'd relate to them or make small talk

It's also especially hard for me to see myself being friendly with other people in my position because the field is adversarial by nature

note that im talking about the corporate experience. if it was a department store or a restaurant etc that’s a very different story

Ya the reality is you actually spend more time with your co workers then you do your loved ones. 40 hours a week you know. Might as well make friends to make those hours more bearable

I get both sides, because you sound uninterested in making a connection or conversation with your co-workers and networking is important af. Especially in a corporate environment. But niggas really are two faced and fake in the legal profession

im a former shy kid so im tryna be more social but my coworkers is not f***ing w me fr 😭everything i say either gets ignored, talked over or “oh” 🤦🏾‍♀️ s*** is like hs 2.0 it made me hate talking to them
