i think it's worth mentioning though that historically jews were denied access into other industries, and in many cases denied from even owning land.

finance and trade were the only options because it was seen as a dirty job nobody wanted back then.

This continued in the Middle Ages where they were generally seen as inferior by the Christians, so they made the best of a bad situation and became their creditors

Jewish people are pretty smart and have good foresight, they stuck together and helped their kinfolk, and to this day have significant ties in business etc.

A school loan should be and is fundamentally seen as an investment, same as a business loa. Your education should in theory boost your "human capital stock" and allow you to earn a higher salary. Many of the youth don't think this s*** through and take a loan and then go right ahead to study in a low paying sector but the onus is on the individual to make the right decisions. I agree that colleges are charging far too much, but this is also due to the government stepping in and allocating grants and federal loans that guarantees the colleges their money regardless of the financial health of the student while the student worries about paying it off on a later date. It seems to be that regulation is a large part of the problem here.

There is also a lot of cheap alternatives for paying for an education that need to be promoted. A traditional 4 year institution is not for everyone, especially right out of highschool

I don’t even believe you would read any of my recommended books or articles so I won’t bother. Would recommend psych classes at your uni, but you don’t really learn s*** until labs/upper levels
