yes, speaking more so for die a legend that's going down as a classic. A lot of really great songs on there

No. And I really liked Die A Legend.

I can get back to you on what I think makes a great album though. That’s a great question with a lot of nuance

Streaming has taken away the days of artists coming up by making focused great cohesive projects consistently as the way to gain a fan base

And turned it into throwing things at the wall until something sticks

not just @op (and this is from a kid who's favorite types of music is hip hop, R&B/neosoul, house music, and jazz growing up) but I really hate when being a fan of hip hop/R&B is looked at as "putting yourself in a box" and when you start liking more than just that it's seen as a "progression."

Like hip hop and R&B are just for simpletons. It aint lost on me that there's a racial factor that's played into it (not saying most of yall ITT that are saying this are playing that, but there is some implicit bias.)
