this is the worst thing i ever seen
New form of investment they want to pioneer
OpenAI says they are offering $2 million dollars worth of OpenAI Tokens to 169 tech startup companies (startups under Y Combinator) in exchange for equity in the companies
& depending on how those startups get valued when they move to the funding stage, OpenAI will take $2 million dollars worth of equity based on their initial valuation
Almost every positive take I see about AI usually comes from someone talking about how much more/faster they get done at work.
And it’s just like…alright? Like it’s cool that helps you complete your projects faster and s***, but why should I give a s*** about that exactly? Is an easier workload really worth the consequences? I feel like office productivity is on the low end of society’s problems.
they should throw s*** at him
literal s***
these d***heads are just doing this for the social media dogpiling/promo now. "rich a****** demands young crowd accept parasitic tech they didnt want or ask for" basically describes most of these interactions irl and online these days

what is this man getting out of social media promo
what is this man getting out of social media promo
showing potential/current investors how dedicated he is to them in the face of opposition

yes that makes more sense showing out to investors

imo whenever these guys get in front of a mic to talk about genAI, I assume their audience is exclusively mid-managers, c-suite corpos and investors. regular people might think they are talking to them but they are only being talked at

The reality is the technology that ai could create could radicalize many fields inclusing healthcare which is in general a positive
Yes ai has consequences but it also has benefits and to ignore that is naive, even if i personally think it should be heavily regulated

Radicalize in what way? Making healthcare cheaper and more accessible?
my gf had to talk to an ai chatbot on the phone today for a refund and she told me that it legit got an attitude with her and she was shocked
Radicalize in what way? Making healthcare cheaper and more accessible?
Invention of new d****
A lot if not most of the ai layoffs are rly just companies using it as an excuse to narrow down their workforce
Ai isnt replacing jobs as much as companies are realizing they dont need as many employees

What you've said and more. Depending on what's it's used for in healthcare settings it could be used to enhance the quality of services e.g. spotting certain conditions earlier, more precise diagnoses, reducing administrative workload so nurses/caretakers have more time to spend on those in their care etc.
The problem is that those pushing AI only seem to care about how it can improve their bottom line by obsoleting jobs instead of enhancing their workforces to produce higher quality services/products lol. The other side of this AI push is also how there's a hyperfocus on surveillance and removing individual rights to privacy.

It will be used to cut corners to increase shareholder value

Youre correct. But is that an AI problem or a deeper issue with our economic and social structure and its incentives? Its obvious we have a lot of work to do in those areas and the implications extend far beyond AI

pretty much this but also, it is crazy what you can get ai to do in the workplace. it's definitely creeping up it feels like

What’s funny is that the corporations don’t believe in using AI for the benefit of beings.
You want it to be able to cure cancer, and provide value to the wellness of humans.
But they won’t sell their souls to cheapen the healthcare system.

I see that a lot since the Covid era.
Companies are much more lenient on saying their to the public that their decisions were based on world politics than their actual internal decisions.
man what
