So my point was its pointless for you to criticise people for taking offence to some jokes (racial ones or whatever) cos someone who enjoys rape jokes could level the same criticism at you - and this goes for everyone in the world, we all find different things offensive so why bother tryna police what should and shouldn’t be offensive.

So long as people have a legitimate and genuine reason for feeling offended about something just let them live

There’s definitely a difference between a joke and a comment being defended under the guise of comedy In hindsight. Contextual factors also play a part.. doesn’t really seem like you’re dealing with jokes op

One other thing that i think is worth mentioning is how a person who is bothered by a joke responds to it. There's nothing inherently wrong with being offended but there is a mature and immature way to express it.
The same goes for the person who makes uses the offensive humor; there's nothing wrong with a discussion about it but if they immediately classify you as another SJW or libtard some stupid s*** like that instead of an individual person you'd probably be better off just not socializing with them anyway.

SO sick of comedians doing this. If you can’t handle someone criticizing your jokes that you know are offensive because that’s how you wrote them, maybe being an edgy comedian isn’t for you. Everyone wants to be Lenny Bruce but no one wants to risk anything.

Comedians don’t know where the line is til they cross it. I will never be upset at a joke, even if it’s about a group I’m a part of. If someone is truly offended by a joke, that’s weakness to me.
