    Don’t think so honestly

    man be for real.

It is entirely a choice by many to let white people in

WE ARE ON KTT where many people are white and many pretend to be black

social media twitter choosing to showcase so much of the "culture"

    is a CHOICE

record labels and not pushing back and still chasing their record deals or cosigning ian or chilling with culture vultures or doing songs with them is a CHOICE

we as black people are NOT A MONOLITH everyone has free will

As you said, YNS does reach out and talk to artists who coalesce with his worldview. He also works with Complex who don't do that. They have to lock onto whatever is popular to stay afloat. You have to do that for the attention economy. That's the issue. His personal principles are never going to outpace these hot take yes men. There's hardly any institutional media left either. Podcast clips and streamers run rap

Tyler gave props to DJ Quik and acted like them not reporting that was the issue. I'm sure Ian likes lots of rappers we all like. Who is Tyler positively supporting these days that speaks to this generation? Teezo Touchdown? Tyler himself has so many fans who "grew out of rap" it's hard to count. And the people he brought into rap were never here to stay.

You can't change anything with outrage. Your attention is the thing driving trends and you have to direct it to s*** you like. And I haven't written this much about an album I like in a while. It's very hard to do. YNS is good at that tho. He's def the change he wishes to see in the world.

Tyler is not. He wears fashion brands all the time I'm sure. He's gotta do the same publicity for the rappers he thinks represent what he likes.

I said in that ian thread that tyler does an end of the year top 10 albums and songs of the year. He literally ranted and raved about paris texas nuwhip for days on his ig lol.

But when he does that and talks about music, ktt2 says he comes off pretentious.

It’s not really a choice especially when the people that run the means of mass production are ⚪️

shoulda never let em in tell that to the bronx kids of the 80s in a burning house, capitalism in its essence does rid people of that free will and choice of “fuck you we don’t need you.” with the simple “nigga them lights bout to turn off.”

The loudest microphone these guys have is their music. I added a sentence about rappers doing free publicity 24/7 for fashion brands. They gotta do the same for rappers they agree with.

Earl boosted all those guys he worked with from Slums to Backwoodz.
    Tyler boosted Teezo Touchdown.

I will say I will look at Tyler differently if he dont got paris texas on his next album thats for certain.

Ktt hate teezo but i rather a teezo compared to lost nigga rap #1080

I been saying that though and when I did call that out I was called an antisemite for it.....

so many call out record labels for being white and I have explained even if they are black they know a white boy making bullshit will sell more than a black boy dropping concept albums

same way drake mixed ass sells

    its the market

I think Earl and Slums mutually benefited from all of that. He found a new direction and all those guys found audiences. MIKE especially.

Tyler is also a producer and a music video director. Who's he sending beats? Is he shooting anyone's videos?

Say you want more DJ Quiks and only put on Teezo rockstar. Doesn't track

The one thing YNS gets wrong is talking about "why does he sound like that" and then saying they're letting Drake's resurgence down.

Drake is the most fraudulent pretender oat and that was made clear in the beef he's talking about

Slums isnt the same as mike, navy, mavi, and em. They (navy especially) hate when interviewers get them mixed up.

And navy just got dropped from his label

is it fair to say, in Drake's defense, that at least we know he's a student of the game? like he has a deep knowledge of hip hop and has always been a fan first...

If you wanna make excuses for Drake, some amount of people will make the same excuses for Yeat and Ian.

And i’d tell em “yo give me yeat/ian’s sfg, tc, nwts”

Theres a reason we stopped making Mac Miller jokes after his 2nd (or was it 3rd album) that white boy got gud!

Yeat makes better music than the Opium label bar Carti.

And guess what, I'll defend Carti to the same extent I defend Thug and Future. Because "if the music is good" is my threshold as well. And I get in hot water if I say they aren't the best at what I think "rapping" should be. Despite defending them as innovators or melodists or whatever.

Which is why my argument doesn't rest on that. My argument is make your actions match your words. You want rappers who say some s***? Listen to them, talk about them, put them on.

YNS does that to the best of his ability.
    Tyler doesn't.

my point always then which I openly said was "Hey I have had this opinion before about the value of critiquing record labels but ye and how he is saying it is not constructive"

I continuously mentioned lupe but people painted it how they wanted to paint it
