It has been vastly devalued because of streaming.

    i agree with you Jim.

  • I won’t say too much but the three letters in your name makes me feel like this thread is part of #TheAgenda.

  • If you disagree you were simply too young to enjoy peak music

I realized it doesn’t matter if music or movies or tv got worse or better. I just find what I like in any given year and keep it pushing

Almost everything has fell off in quality due to the excessive corporate greed (late capitalism) tbh. From movies, social media, services, etc, its not only music...
But it's a discussion for a Life sxn thread.

one thing that can save us from this conundrum is a frank ocean album

    LORD PLEASE!

  • Nov 11, 2024

Yeah I don't really listen to "music" anymore, I kinda been really into white noise and ambient ocean currents.

Real esoteric anomalies, none of that mainstream recordings of two insane asylum patients spitting at each other... I'm not a 17 year old.

There’s a lot of good music new and old. Try radioooo or radiogarden if you can’t find it on your own

    cons of the content era

  • Nov 11, 2024

It’s a different time. We have more people making music now than ever before but the large majority of it is generic. We follow trends instead of developing our own styles. like compare music now to 20 years ago, I could hear a timberland or pharell produced track and know it was them, nowadays producer tags is the only way to tel the difference lol. music is becoming the Spider-Man meme but this year has been a decent year for music.

  • Nov 11, 2024

its mainly jus the fact that as time goes on it seems to be harder for artists to make new sounds

also the nature of the industry/streaming makes it hard for unique artists to blow up
