But I’m older too , so there’s that. The thought of texting/being on the phone with someone all day make me cringe lol. Back when I was in high school I would send out replies left and right quick asf but that died down once I realized most of those texts just be filler and me not talking about anything fr with people.

it's also okay if what you want from a partner is quick communication all the time. i'll say it's very unrealistic and you'd be better off being patient and occupying your time otherwise than waiting on replies, but it's still ok. y'all are not the ones for each other

I mean constantly responding instantly or constantly hours later is two extremes, both unreasonable as a normal expectation imo.

You were right to not continue pursuing when she clearly wasn’t as invested in building a relationship as you were.

You were wrong to do all that blocking and unsending. She didn’t do anything malicious to you; you guys were just in two different places. You should have just stopped initiating conversations and placed some healthy boundaries for yourself. If she asked why you were acting different, then you could respectfully communicate what you were feeling and why you needed a little space.

I saw this post recently that resonated with me that said something along the lines of:

People scroll social media to rest their brain when they need a break. You aren’t entitled to anyone else’s downtime and shouldn’t take it personally if they don’t have the energy to respond right away.

If you’re in a relationship or interested in one with the person, you should expect a higher frequency in texting and if not that, atleast some transparency about being busy or going out so being unavailable for some time.

The whole “waiting hours” to text somebody is literally a shady dating game tactic and I don’t blame OP for not being with it

F*** options man. That’s for people looking for casual s***or empty dates. If you want a serious relationship, avoid those kind of people. There are women out there who genuinely believe in carefully choosing one or two guys to seriously date and evaluate a relationship with and those are the ones you go for when dating for something serious.

Don’t ever give into demand or supply in life. If there was only one choice given to me and I felt it wasn’t matching to my worth, I’m not taking it. Yes, women will naturally have more options. But as a man, there isn’t anything more empowering than knowing your worth. I’ve rejected women when I’ve had 10 others texting me and I’ve rejected women when I’ve had no options and gone on a drought for 6 months after. Inner strength is the greatest asset of all

just a real example from my perspective. lost some people very close to me this year unexpectedly. stopped using social media and messaging almost anybody back except very close friends for a couple weeks. it was ok that i did that. some people were still around when i was ready to come back, some not. my boundaries are completely valid. other people's are too if they decide it's too much. it's just how relationships work. all this applies especially to anyone i was in the talking stage with.
