I understood the contribution. I responded with sarcasm
You can detach yourself from the organized religious aspect of spirituality and still be a spiritual person.
I believe in the Christian God, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus died for my sins. I believe he was a man of kindness, love, empathy, compassion.
I try to live my life by those same principles and be the best person I can be.
I do all of this while not falling into evangelical conservative bs & condemning everyone else to hell.
This is where I'm at currently. I'm not so set on the literal son of god thing though but I really support the image of Christ. Thanks for the post
You don't need a religion to have God in your life. I personally believe God is the creative spirit that flows through all naturally occuring things. Religion is a man made useless middle step, we can all tap into that divine energy without needing to follow a doctrine that a human just like you or I wrote.
Feel like we're gonna look like fools in the future cos science still hasn't scratched the surface. There's something outside matter, time and space but unless we can measure it we don't seem to believe it, which is understandable but arrogant if people refuse the possibility. I think that's the whole point of God. The faith that there's something higher without proof
oh i wouldn’t rule out the possibility of a higher power existing knowing as little as we know tbh
but the ancient religions with guidelines on how to worship higher powers can’t be right
I live close to nature with gorgeous surroundings and that alone scratches that spiritual itch.
The night sky when you don't have much light pollution with thousands of stars above you is good enough to heal the soul.
Connecting with nature has been incredible for me. You don't really need that monolithic being when everything from mountains to bugs feel interconnected with you; at that point God is everywhere.
Exactly. I’m tired of people saying we worship a f***ing “moon god” because they get their facts off the back of a cereal box. Islam has the LEAST amount of inconsistencies out of ANY Abrahamic religion, AND STILL DOESN’T HAVE ANY PHYSICAL DEPICTIONS OF ANYTHING.
Humans can’t understand God’s physical form, unless It chooses to reveal Itself. On some Lovecraftian s***, our minds wouldn’t be able to comprehend what we’re looking at. Our mind would just “.exe” crash.
Retweet
Islam is the only religion that believes in one God and he has no partners like Christians believe with the trinity. This also goes against the fundemental abrahimic teachings of one God but that's another convo. Also the only religion which doesn't go to the extreme of rejecting Jesus pbuh either like the Jews do but also not making him God like the Christians do. I mean even if we go to the holy books the Qur'an evidently hasn't changed since it's been revealed however books like the Bible have. Its clearly a faith against paganism and associating other dieties to God so that guy needs to do research before posting misinformation like that
@op God is like oxygen
believing in Him or not doesnt change anything about Him
but in a personal level all I have to say is seek with sincerity and you shall find
looking for an honest relationship with God on the internet is like looking for a fair fight against cops
most people are religious delusional freaks or some highly exalted hippies that think god is dmt
No one knows and will ever know for certain, learn to let go the feeling of knowing and open up the realization that we as humans aren’t designed to know but to keep digging and trying. If fish were meant to fly they would.
Muslims don't worship pagan diety
What does Kaaba represent?
@alphabear
What does the new moon symbol represent?
I didn't list Islam within that group because I'm not familiar with it. Not going to get into the disrespectful talk that Western Americans do.
My viewpoint is that it's a stumbling block for black people, because if we aren't Christians, then we're most likely practicing Muslims, whether NOI or the original.
Just as it states here
Deut 28:64
And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
Christianity being the wood and Islam being the stone. Those gods of wood and stone have various other components but the Christianity and Islam are the two major religions within the diaspora that we worship.
