Interesting
What did you expect Hip Hop was originally going to be or what direction was it headed to?
Honestly I expected hip-hop post Kanye to lean more into creativity and self expression and away from street s***/coonery/egocentric posturing and it did for a second but it went right back lol
I thought artist would be making s*** like TPAB on the regs and we’d be expanding our minds as a community and s*** lol
I thought hip-hop would mature into something similar to Jazz or 70s soul, very positive and lots of talent
I was obviously wrong as tuck and I’d say the exact opposite pretty much happened
I still think that hip-hop will enter a mature phase once casuals move on from it and some other genre replaces it as the center of pop culture but it doesn’t look like we are quite there yet
It’s coming though
is your refrigerator running???
No my electricity was turned off a week ago

pop leeching off rap and it becoming the biggest genre brought us to new heights but i also feel like pigeonholed the genre into staying new and trendy instead of being allowed to grow up
i still feel like there’s a healthy mix but the scales are definitely tipped towards what hits hard and fast and trends which sucks bc unlike say JT’s latest pop album i still think there’s a very real place for commercially viable grown man rap.
I worry about Red Lobster potentially closing after filing for bankruptcy
If the cheddar bay biscuit dies im dying too
I worry about Red Lobster potentially closing after filing for bankruptcy
They f***ed up when they took the hot wings off the menu smh
At least we still got the biscuits
commercial hip hop is dead in next 10 years for sure but its actually a good thing for the genre itself
wym shrimp recipe
You just pull them out of the ocean, red lobster isn’t bioengineering shrimp
Shrimp are man made but that’s another story
Crustaceans are clearly robots

I remember going to Red Lobster and the waiter only gave us one batch of biscuits and we literally threatened to get the manager if that nigga didn't give us another batch lol.
someone like Yeat or Ian will never make it big like that
despite how “good” their fans think the music is it’s, even more of an act than people criticize Drake for
The masses are not gonna connet with some PNW kid doing an atl accent rapping about lean and opps while Thug is in jail
People liked Eminem because he was being himself
Even post Malone wasn’t as egregious with the s*** like Yeat is
They are just sideshows
Yeat at least featured on FOTD

This was never gonna happen cause peak Ye happens during peak Wayne, and peak Wayne is a continuation of the post Pac haecceity of mainstream hiphop (1998-2005) that was already being represented by 50 Cent at the time
can't say i am "worried" about it no.
If anything, I do worry about the lack of newer generation artists hitting complete super stardom, last two i can think of are trav and carti.
It's cliche but Juice and X passing away I reallllly do think had a negative overall impact on this idea. I think both could have been fairly big, but maybe not. look at yeat, he does not seem posed to reach super stardom
Lil Peep and Pop Smoke too
