From Southernplayalistic to Aquemini, yes, he was usually regarded as a better spitter

    Those are 3 albums sir.

Yes and they have 6 studio albums, so he was regarded as better for half their discography

But we take niggas like Carti, Future, and Thug seriously???

    God, we are so backwards

Rap is just WWE bro. I think we all get so wound up because we forget that all this s*** is fake and just acting.

We love to act like rappers are so "real" and s*** but let's be honest they're some of the fakest motherfuckers besides dudes like Kendrick

And whats crazy is respectfully to the dead daniel never struck me as that type of guy just from what i saw. Nobody ever called him out for being a “capper” or whatever the equivalent was at the time. I do know he spiraled into homelessness a bit after his brothers passing so maybe thats where he got those vibes

idk how valid this is but some stories I heard is DOOM was actually a G and ran with an extortion team

He even fell out with some rappers he used to work with early in his career over some street s*** and he used to call out niggas for capping in they raps

I think he may have honestly been legit but just more of a lowkey grimey dude rather than a flashy type

Yea, nobody ever talks about his last verse on Elevators.

Or talk about his ATLiens verse that isnt prolific nobody ever sampled it.

3000 was a chump on that album

I accepted that niggas really won't appreciate dudes like Q-Tip, CD Ye, Mos, or someone like Common nowadays.

Especially when society and hip-hop has pushed for niggas to model their image and sound to be like Wayne.

Wayne really was the reset button lol. And lowkey you could make this tweet about Wayne too (he not talking about nothing too many corny metaphors and punchlines) lol

The problem with conscious rappers is they're all hypocrites which is why it's hard to take them seriously lol

Common always kicking that love s*** while being a known womanizer

Mos Def being an insane person with that global passport s***

Every single living person is a hypocrite to some degree

I never got this point lol especially when a lot of rappers people say it about do not paint themselves to be perfect, I feel like fans nowadays think if you have any positive beliefs you have to be 100% positive which is kinda impossible lol

Probably a hot take, but the rappers ya looking for. The ones with quality and mainstream success are probably gonna start coming from international acts more than the u.s

Niggas like Dave are bout to fill in that role

I think you have it confused that I think 3k is not a good rapper or something, man. I'm a huge hip-hop fan and 3Stacks is one of the greatest rappers of all time, but I think back then before people understood Andre's quirks they just looked at Big Boi as the more consistent rapper because he was on some street / pimp s***

Like I said before, I might be wrong, but that's just the perception I have of that period of time.

don't get me wrong man, I love it all lol.

These threads are the only source of actual music discussion on this site nowadays. The rest are thinly veiled Drake v. Kendrick bait threads and gossip/TMZ threads about nothing.

    Complain about those instead

I agree, those should be limited under the megathreads

  • Jul 20, 2024

Im never one to underrate big boi as I think a lot of 3k fans are only fans because of his aesthetic.

And the contrast between their styles is what made them special

But 3k was letting them wings fly all over ATLiens, that was when he got sober which he always found niggas thinking he on d**** funny cause the highest he ever was was southernplayalisticadillacmuzik era

Because they literally positions themselves to be seen that way. Conscious rappers have a savior complex
