makes no sense when kendrick is meant to be in his prime around the same age hov was dropping his best work

Kendrick could literally just fart into the mic at this point and people would eat it up. Don’t get me wrong, I love TPAB, but outside of that album he’s maybe the most overrated rapper in recent memory. I can’t even get though damn, and that heart pt 5 is only lapped up because of the visuals

The Blueprint is better than any Kendrick album

it’s frustrating because he is genuinely a great talent and he does try a lot but his fans do him so badly. they remind me of those kanye stans who discovered rap when mbdtf came on their youtube recommended

    Mmm Hmm

There's arguably 2 artists that can stand next to hov.

Whoever popped up in your head is the answer

    Eminem and Hopsin?

I don’t think hip hop would’ve changed much if Kendrick never existed tbh
while it’s impossible to imagine hip hop without Jay Z

Albums is not the only thing worth discussing. There have been several post itt validating those reasons. If albums is the only thing someone can say then it’s no better than working for Pitchfork.

    I hear you

    He's 35 the other one is 52

By the time dot is 52 u don't think he would be a figure in "culture"?

Kendrick not surpassing Jay is not completely about longevity btw. And Kendrick is an undeniable figure in the culture, that’s not up for debate

Kendrick simply hasn’t done what Jay has done, not even up to 2000s Jay

There's high-key alot of artists discography u can delete.

    And barely anything will change.

    Nah I'm trolling.

But if the criteria is "greatest" outside of BIG and Pac, in a debate Drake, Kendrick, Cole, Ye, Nas, Em I think hiphop heads will find a way to put Jay over all of them.

I don’t praise everything he does. His discography is patchy as f***, but blueprint, black album, reasonable doubt and 4:44 are way better than Kendrick discog
