if u love making music and dont stop working & improving ur gonna get somewhere
working & improving not just in terms of music but putting urself out there
getting thicker skin
talking to people, making connections

Trust, I've been through it all on KTT lol (and in general).
I wouldn't put my music so much (to this extent) at people's faces if i hadn't worked to this point (with this amount of confidence).
Connections is something not everyone can be good at - particularly very introverted people like me
True
The point of this thread is to show how tiring being an artist in a fake world can be; anyone that makes music (seriously) would know
well thats why i said, it depends on your goal at the end of the day
and im talking overall/per song/per album etc...
each time u release something, whats your goal ya know
like it is pretty damn tiring, when u aint get no appreciation
like to me idc about radio and all that just yet, i have seen acts 10000 times worse than us get on the radion here lmao
all i wanted was some recognition from the outlets(which i finally got with my last release)
but even that is trial and error
and still making what YOU like to make the most
it will eventually land in someones lap
but if it doesnt u gotta keep creating and perfecting, pushing yourself
its a fake world yes, but thats how it be, make sure they need u more than u need them

lol, if that was true we wouldn't have so much trash music out right now
Edit: Length of time means nothing; I've been writing poetry for 14 years - making music was an easy transition

completely true and not everyone can naturally push people, get those 15 minutes in someone's office
but you /can/ get better and better at it, it's baby steps, the same way u get better at mixing or getting a certain sound each time u try making a track
introversion feels like a crutch sometimes ik but it's a barrier you can break, if even inch thru
&kanye spent the better part of 10 years with nobody hearing him iirc

Nah, he was already working with No ID 2 years into making music
my bad - but there's plenty good examples out there, point still standing nonetheless
it's not a permanent crutch
OP's s***life is nonmeritocratic so he had to make this thread
I know man, these girls keep giving it to me without any effort from my part

I've been following my favourite artist's journey, and most of it was either due to sheer luck or having a lot of money and/or connections (mostly the latter).

it's putting the same persistence & drive of making music into talking to people & learning how to sell urself
u can make those connections and make ur s*** fall into someone's lap thru that effort
if u chalk it entirely up to luck youve already lost the battle, &dont forget u can carve ur own path, dont have to follow in the steps of ur favourites

writing is diff than making famalam
the voice, the performance,flows/pockets,song structuring etc.. not even getting into the prod side or engineering side
theres alot more that comes to it, that will always develop
ktt not a great place to convert fans. it's been proven time and time again. yes I know brockhampton met on here. but they weren't posting nonstop on here. they were making moves in other spaces that proved lucrative. not saying you aren't too. just saying.
social media presence, strong visual game, understanding of playlists, and knowing industry tastemakers (just thru the internet is good enough but if you're in a good city then that too) is what really matters. you will convert fans and then can retain them thru a well done social media presence.

I will always develop - I'm just super, super proud of what I made. Honestly, if someone established made this same EP, people would call it AOTY.

all those are artists have made great music and are just generally great at what they do best lmao stop playing around
but like i said, u need to grow and focus on growing

ktt is good for getting listeners but DEFINITELY not fans; i've been here long enough to know

u should be proud lmao why would u otherwise release it
everyone is super proud of what they made, but at the same time u always got somethin like "damn i couldve done this and that better"
then u think so, its in your right
i hear u have grown alot, but its not quite there yet, but ur own the good way really
