    stfu my guy

jimi hendrix is nothing like tyler the coon.

some “alternative black people” are the same ones who say that corny “too black for white kids too white for black kids” and they end up hanging out with mostly white people.

some of these are the same ones who’ll never date a black person.

the rest of us (obviously not all) liked things that were from the norm of what a black people are “supposed” to like. we weren’t saying any of that s***. sure we got clowned by different people but that was the past where people behaved a lot more stereotypically out of fear of being clowned.

Ok but it’s different than somebody literally being homeless due to circumstances and Cool but he just liked to draw and graffiti what are u saying bruh? Like is said it was mostly white ppl appreciating which is the point of the f***ing thread damn

He ran away cause of family problems and that wasn't even the only time he was homeless

He was a street artist, that did graffiti something prominent in black culture. How is he an alternative black person

And where are u getting this idea that he was underappreciated by black people when he was alive

tyler old stuff is still weird and that s*** white people be on

Ehhh. There were a few street niggas that rapped about s*** similar to Tyler but they got a pass cause they were hood niggas and they made music for the hood.

Tyler came into the game on some suburban s***. That’s why he was viewed differently by a lot of black people

I promise you thats majority of black ppl in that age group f*** u mean

But that’s your experience bruh, that’s my point. You’re not speaking based on statistical facts, it’s all anecdotal.

If anything in MY experience, black people tend to show extra love to one of ours, especially towards those that exist in spaces where we normally do not frequent. Sort of like how niggas will make an exception and watch golf when Tiger Woods is on.

By white ppl majority thats the point of the damn thread

yes i think people might have been misinterpreting your point partly. during Jimi's lifetime white people were his main audience and the black radio stations didnt really play him like that, and he was trying to "re claim" more of his black audience at one point. another reason why is that his career originally took off in the UK (his bandmates were brits) so of course had tons more white fans come from that area along with the white people in the industry there. the scene he was in, even his girlfriends etc. were mostly white people and if i bet you just google pictures of him you can find way more with white people than black. if you look at concert videos, the audiences are white

i can't speak from the black perspective, only the Hendrix stan perspective but i found an article that uses the same terminology you did "alt": popmatters.com/132700-jimi-hendrix-the-patron-saint-of-alt-blackness-2496118707.html

Op is speaking facts. He could’ve used better wording tho. Idk why y’all are playing dumb

i understand what he means before it used to be a lot weird for black people especially to listen to music outside of rap or have hobbies outside of certain sports/music etc

but that wasn’t just because of black people calling other black people white.

a lot of things were unavailable for black people even now today, you would rarely see black people in horseback riding, water polo etc

the music example is different cos black people have always been thriving there

art and fashion though was also unavailable to black people in that way.
