honestly like i deal with these ppl all the time at work

i can assure you, they’re not more stressed than the avg person when they’re 2 bottles of wine down on their 4 hour lunch break

i'd chalk this up to the nature of most executive positions

i do have some gripes with the site(s) posted, especially the epi one because it's only measuring salaries on the top 350 firms in the U.S. so obviously it's not representative for the average CEO. but as for the rate of depression, most executive jobs are actually pretty heavily taxing and have you working 100+ hour weeks taking the work back home with you.

in my field, the highest you can reach is a CISO/CIO (which is jokingly referred to as career is so over). average tenure is only 2 years(!!), because there is no job security in these roles. these positions are ticking time bombs because when a breach happens (and it will) you will be the first to get sacked in an effort to maintain company image. i probably never would even think about taking one of those roles.

but on the other hand you get paid well over six figures for the short amount of time you work there and probably drive a (presumably) paid-off euro sports car, so it seems a fair trade off tbh

Well the more u withstand the more u can milk it idk why dudes on KTT love to think in idealizations likd we live in a perfect world

& don’t get me wrong, I am not capping for these mfer the last thing am worried about is the wellbeing being of some rich white mfer

That being said, the liberal defeatist mentality some ppl on here giving off is highkey laughable. Dude u live in the states & complain about making 24k a year. The fact that u are allowed to pursue more than one job is a blessing

I’m staying in a place where you can’t legally work more than one job. My employees literally get paid 8k annually. On the other hand, my clients from the other business make around 200k for a middle management job where they come in at 8 & leave at 3. & this is a famous, super developed country not some third world hole

If yall got it bad with the fragmented hierarchization wait till u find out what’s goin on in the outside world

i think you missed my point

i wasn't complaining or arguing with you at all, and i'm actually mostly comfortable with the current state of my career and the pay i get i was just expanding on what was previously said and providing some extra context as to why things are the way they are with executive positions

Ya & the responsibilities of a CEO usually are 500x more stressful than those of ur average employee. I mean atleast if they doing it right

Imagine navigating thru 50 lawsuits, being on call 24/7 & having to oversee an entire organization

No thx Jeff keep ur bread

    exactly lmao

Kinda has a valid point idk about 500x more, but if you really think the CEOs job isn’t MUCH more difficult and risky than an employees, you’re drunk.

    It's not at all
