But if they gave Donda a 9.0 we’d never hear the end of it
Yeah we all have a bias not just Pitchfork. This is facts
Nigga pitchfork has been the biggest d*** rider of Kanye for 2 decades and technically this a good score compared to the all the other “journalism” outlets so I don’t see your point OP
Idk what’s so hard about judging the damn music for what it & not tangle it up with your ideologies and assumptions
In what world did these b**** niggas impact one of the greatest rap releases ever?
it wouldve been considered great by the general public no matter what but its undeniable that critics played a huge role in the narrative that's perfect and the best rap album ever, exact same thing can be seen with TPAB
yup
A 6.9 for the big day was so they didnt look insane after giving coloring book a 9.1
Gave Coloring Book a 9.1 didnt make top 200 albums of the decade, gave Blonde a 9.0 and gave it best album of the decade
its funny cuz they played a huge role in the MBDTF hype
2010 Pitchfork is night and day from 2021 Pitchfork Presented by Conde Nast®
Not a good album but this was ridiculous and I think he said he became depressed after this review
Did the same s*** to Mac

exactly why all these score are arbitrary lmaoo
Take away 3-4 points from JIK and add them to Camp and things are as they should be
really want to know what a publication like pitchfork does to calculate scores
once alphonse pierre logs on here he can let us know 🙏🏿
Why yall even care so much bout critics btw
If you like it you like it
If not you dont
Who tf cares what other think?

Yeah its fun to discuss music. But i mean why cry bout some critics hating it while you like it yourself. Thats their opinion, even when biased af cause they hate Kanye personally
Kanye might feel a type of way tho since the reviews more bout him than his music like they some shrinks. But as a fan that enjoys the music, why would you care?
Ironically, I feel like Pitchfork's got a similar stature in the blogosphere as Kanye does in music - completely different playing fields obviously, but in terms of sheer influence in their craft in the last 20 years. The biggest difference is that when Kanye finally backed up his controversy-baiting bullshit with good music again, Pitchfork didn't have the same bravery they once did to take the unpopular stance and praise it.
Vast oversimplification obviously lmao but hear me out

Oh yeah I agree but I don’t think most people are crying just discussing and then some people just take it to heart bc the music means a lot to them and they’re passionate about it

I've heard in the past it's actually a separate method from the article itself. They poll the team and average for the points, then one person does the write-up. Could be wrong though

Bro I’m telling you first hand nobody cared … That s*** was a classic in real life. We’re a very small subculture on KTT and people like us were even more rare 10 years ago
idk how people can properly review music just a few days after it comes out
This too. Album should really sit with you for a week or two and a number of listens before a review

Oh yeah i love the album too so its not nice to see they s***ting on it but at the end of the day idrc lmao
I just keep on enjoying the album
