Bro I’m telling you first hand nobody cared … That s*** was a classic in real life. We’re a very small subculture on KTT and people like us were even more rare 10 years ago
sure
They would never have the guts to pull some s*** like this again and I really miss the Pitchfork that did:
This too. Album should really sit with you for a week or two and a number of listens before a review
yeah idk how i really feel about donda rn, i love it now but i gotta see how i feel later sometimes songs don't hit you until weeks/months later

LMFAOOOOOOOOOO
I understand why they focus hard on Kanye as the art and the artist go almost hand in hand for donda. however, just because Kanye is wack doesn’t mean the album is wack. the reviewers should’ve discussed the music more
They sometimes get it right tho

the reviewer has nothing to do with the score though that’s the thing this thread is stupid
it’s a collective of opinion it’s not based off whatever the review says that’s just who they let be in charge of the article

I’m not talking specifically about pitchfork but the reviewers in general. Ik what u mean though
I don’t know anyone over like 27 that enjoys Donda and all the editors that decide the score are like 40 so it tracks
its funny cuz they played a huge role in the MBDTF hype
You think MBDTF is seen as a classic because of pitchfork? This is something a dumb c***would say

Come on now I'm 27 and I feel old as it as
You're right though about their editors. Idk I'd bet anyone who didn't grow up with Kanye (so maybe cutoff in mid-30s rn?) is having a hard time digesting his current persona.
That was a decade ago doofus
And it’s effected how they’ve reviewed the past 5 solos albums
TBD getting a 6.9 is actually the most reasonable score I’ve ever seen someone give it

This revisionist history
I'ma tell yall like Pitchfork told me, f*** yall niggas im outta here

I think it’s the opposite. I think most people that are old enough to remember watching the All Falls Down video on MTV just don’t enjoy 2021 Kanye
The Big Day > Donda

It's not seen as a classic because of Pitchfork, it's seen as a classic because it's a classic. But a major part of the reason that even the most snobby critics recognize it as such was that Pitchfork gave it a 10 at the peak of their industry clout, the first 10 since Kid A no less I think. Sad but true - they really did have that kind of pull, especially with white people that thumbed their nose up to and including 808s because a black man was behind the art.
im not sure if thats reviewing the actual thriller album or just the anniversary deluxe part
