    Kendrick has his own trajectory.

Kanye is different because he had his hands in some many people's beats and projects outside his solo work and has immense influence over hip hop and music in general that revolutionized the genre.

Kendrick is an amazing artist but, outside of consistency, he's not that comparable to Kanye.

Yeezus currently has more Spotify streams than Nothing Was The Same. Kanye just has an insane level of mass appeal that rivals Eminem and Drake.

That doesn't take away from Kendrick at all. He still has an incredible catalog but Kanye's career is impactful for reasons that go beyond consistency.

Kanye basically started mad trends in hip hop along with Wayne and so much of hip hop even today has their DNA.

Hell, Kanye even paved the way for Kendrick to a degree.

Kanye doesn't just have the consistency but he also has the influence and the impact on top of it.

Crazy how Kanye has his solo discography.

Then he has the production he did on other artists albums.

    Like. Holy f***

I see where the confusion stems from. My avi is an edited version of Attack on Titan character, Eren Jaeger. My username is a humorous play on words where I'm not actually using the word but playfully winking towards it. Plus I have black friends in real life who let me say it all the time and have told me I am "invited to the cookout" - their words, not mine

"Plus I have black friends in real life who let me say it all the time and have told me I am "invited to the cookout" " God bless, see, you are the reason I say nibba,
This is probably the whitest thing you can say, it does not get more mayonnaise than this
The classic "My Black friend" white person trying to police a word and missing all of the irony that comes with

Nigga somewhat responsible for 95% of rap albums I love especially when you count artists he’s influenced

I literally feel bad for people who don’t like Kanye

Like… wtf have you been listening to for the past 20 plus years 😂

I honestly think Kanye (and maybe Andre too with The Love Below) made experimentation and influences from other genres the norm in rap. I may be wrong, but I don't think mainstream rappers' discographies were really that varied before Kanye. Now we almost expect it and sometimes criticize a rapper for not experimenting with their sound enough

I honestly don't think Kendrick would've been comfortable with going from GKMC to TPAB to DAMN if Kanye hadn't first. Same with Tyler making an album like IGOR after FlowerBoy

I get what you're saying. TBH, We can all agree that Kanye everyday is being proven more and more to be one of the most influential artists of the modern day, You hear people cite him in nearly every medium

Ofc that’s how influence works tho

This. 808's was polarizing for a moment for literally being a different genre yet it still wounded up being one of the most influencial albums of all time.

MMTBS is a great album but I don't see it having a similar level of influence or impact as years go by. Doesn't take away from it though.

CD/LR vs GKMC/TPAB is actually an interesting comparison

But then Grad f***ing destroys Damn. As for Morales….yeah even Donda better than that bullshit let’s be honest.
