La di da di da slob on me knob
Pass me some syrup f*** me in the car
La di da di da mothafuck the law
Chitty chitty bang murder everything
Worst moment in music that year
This verse winning a Grammy is a classic moment for hip hop
But 7 songs? It's kinda like cheating if you put that up against someone who had to fill 17-18 slots with quality.
Its easier to make a short project that flows from to back.
Gimme a good album.and I can trim.it down to a 7 song classic
An artists or his producer makes the call for a certain amount of songs. You can’t say an artist “had” to put 18 songs on it. If they do for streaming that’s a commercial decision and if they feel like it fits the concept they should make sure all songs have the same quality. And you can’t say gimme an album trim it down and it’s still the same experience. But maybe I’m wrong. I think Daytona and KSG are really well executed and deserve to be in the conversation.

Yea pretty sure it was that verse that won them a Grammy
In all honesty the entire last decade aside from 2019 gave us incredible music. Every year has a solid argument for being someones favorite year in music
2018 was the most recent best year in music, before that was 2016, before that was 2015
2021 has big potential tho, it'll be like the the roaring 20's after the great depression, where everyone got lit and didnt give a single f*** and had babies

It's easier to make 7 bangers then it is to make 8.
If every other album released that year was 8+, how can you accurately rank an album that has half the songs...and half the chance to release something that fails.
First time I've listened IYKYK
Kids See Ghosts
Playing Duppy 24/7 until TSOA dropped and it was a cold blooded murder.
KTT1 was a mess at the time
Swimming dropping
Taking a break from watching the animated Spiderman Series and seeing Mac's death thread.. smh
Ktt was pure comedy during the Drake/Pusha beef
The P**** T memes
Then when pusha came back some posters stopped posting like they were the ones that got dissed n s*** lmao. What a time.

That implies an album with 7 bangers is always more cohesive than a project with more tracks and that's false. Ye is a fine example of that while it still has amazing music with Gost Town. Im probably dusty but Im judging something by the overal listening experience. For me that doesnt necessarily decline when a project has one song that doesnt blow you out of the park. So if someone argues that KOD, DiCaprio 2, Some Rap Songs or whatever is better than Daytone Im fine with that. But it can't be left out the discussion because its 3 songs too short for to a traditional album length
EDIT: Maybe KSG is a better example. That's an amazing project but not actually the best project of that year to me.
Good post except for good music run nod and Kendrick soundtrack nod
Pity inclusions
Drake avi

That thread was classic. Drake stans stopped posting for a couple of days while everybody was posting memes
it wasn't my fav year personally but its somewhat iconic looking back at
2017 is another story, that year was amazing super underrated and had none of the f***ery also
even this nice little positive thread is being turned into a stan war
Drake stans are clowns
That Bey/Jay-Z album.is another late career stumble for Hov too.
I ain't forget
Another? What was the other one? 4:44 is some of his best work
Op stretched a few of theee out to make them seem more impactful than they were lol but i still feel you
2018 was an insane time to be a hip hop fan, one of the most memorable years in quite some time.
I don't think the music holds up to 2015-2017 though. At least, not for me personally.
Yeah 2018 slander is so forced on this site
Defo one of the most interesting years in recent memory and better than 2017 imo
2018 was something else. Getting Scorpion in and 5 Ye produced albums, then Astroworld to top it off
