My brother went to India and the pictures of food looked nasty asl, puddles of curry on bigass leaves and s*** But he swears it tasted amazing
Yeah you have no idea what you’re eating but it’s incredible so you just shovel it in your mouth regardless

Indian food is the only cuisine to have vegetarian food that is not only consistently palatable, but actually consistently great
Ethiopian tho
Ethiopian tho
Will have to dive deeper into Ethiopian food. I’ve only had dishes with meat (chicken tibs, beef tibs, doro wat)
indian food is great, but its heavy af
its def not for regular eating in restaurants. I think cooking it for yourself and figuring out the most optimal spice ratio is the way though

The vegetarian food is so good I didn’t even know they had dishes with meat
I don't know much about Indian food at all. Put me onto some dishes @op
Dumb af
only thing enjoyable is their briyani and that doesnt hold a candle to any jollof rice from any nation that has it

Biryani is leagues better than jollof. Lamb or goat biryani absolutely s***s on jollof.
My go to order at any Indian Restaurant:
Paneer Makhani
Lamb Biryani
Garlic Naan
Mango Lassi
Garlic naan and paneer makhani for real the go to

you'll be so lost on your first visit lmaoo
aite the easiest way is to get some curry and plain rice. tikka masala is the staple and will most likely be great anywhere you go. there are cheese dishes like paneer cooked in all types of ways with curry, yogurt, etc. do not miss out on non-meat options since they are a very natural part of the cuisine
then you gotta get that naan its flatbread with different toppings like garlic and herbs and whatnot. I know that ppl use it as spoons for their entire meal so you'll figure it out. for drinks just get lassi if they have it, it's good to provide some relieve from the spiciness. it's kinda like flavored yogurt
this is the most basic order you can get at probably any Indian place you go in the world. it's gonna be spicy as f*** so ask if they can do it less that (real ones dont ). it is heavy food and portions are usually small but feel more than a lot, so don't go on a full stomach. don't fall into trap of ordering one of each; it's likely you will eat a bite of everything and get full right after. one to two options with a drink and maybe naan is good enough
though I just told u to get some rice and chicken with bread it just might change your life. also I'm not an expert so I might get stuff wrong. don't hesitate to ask your waiter whats their suggestion based on spot's menu and overall don't worry about asking stuff. people are extremely friendly in these places

Sounds like a tame Friday night for me

im talking the amount of butter, cream or whatever that makes it heavy not the spices itself
Food Good
It's wonderful to hear that Indian cuisine holds such a special place in your heart. The flavors, diversity, and unique dining experience it offers can truly make it a memorable event. Exploring Indian cooking at home with the right spices is a great way to enjoy it more often. And it's great that you have a nearby Indian shop to source your ingredients. Indian food truly has a way of capturing the essence of home and providing a distinct taste in every dish.
