DAVIDP would be mad that kids today don’t list a Stalley mixtape from 2012 as one of their favorites
I feel like Tyler be projecting a lil. We all know how anti "real hip hop" he was when he was younger
he was posting on forums mad as s*** before he started dropping music
Some are you being intentionally dense just to hate on him. He’s not saying kids can’t enjoy Wu-Tang albums, he’s saying people feel obligated to say the same 5 albums/rappers are their favorites because it’s the “right” opinion
He right but dude got a little too passionate
Like it ain’t that serious
you the passion police? lol

Dude was THE contrarian of all contrarians and still is.

frr ppl on here just missing his whole point bcos they don't like him
when i was in elementary my favorite album of all time was daft punk random access memories
when i was in middle school my favorite album of all time was john coltrane's my favorite things.
when i started high school, my favorite album of all time was illmatic.
none of that sht was performative, i didn't even talk to ppl abt what i listened to. I just genuinely felt that way.
Maybe this is just a diss to wu-tang or something?? like i can totally see a kid just genuinely rlly f***ing w wu-tang.. maybe tyler can't imagine that, maybe he doesn't think their music is good enough to appeal to kids lol
I read the first line of your post like "damn this nigga young" and then I looked up the release date of RAM and realized I was at the tail end of elementary school when it came out
you the passion police? lol
it’s just for someone who claims they don’t care, it seems he cares a lot
I agree with the overall point because it's weird as f*** how everyone seems to have the same top 5 rappers list just in a different order. Even more weird when people 20 or younger have Andre 3000 in their top 5 when that nigga literally ain't release a project the whole time they've been alive.
On the other side though, I can't say I'm too surprised to hear people, regardless of their age, say they have old albums/artists in their top 5. Lotta times the music really is that timeless. Like I'm never gonna doubt someone if they say that Songs in the Key of Life or Sign o the Times is in their top 5 all time favorite albums, even if they like 13 or 14 or some s***.
End of the day though, people really do need to start being honest about who they really like. All these people having the same top 5 when there are so many outstanding rappers throughout the history of rap, and even contemporary, is definitely fugazi.
You ain't gotta fake the funk.
The best way to enjoy Tyler the Creator is by not following him on Twitter. Great artist/creative, but he's so pretentious and arrogant that he frequently contradicts himself and shows his ass as a hypocritical snob.
I know since he first blew up he said he's a "walking paradox", but like you said, just comes off as being argumentative for no other reason than just to talk down on people.
I'll take the music, but leave the personality somewhere else forreal
Also the suggestion that this guy of all people never once said something he didn’t believe to fit in is laughable

Bruh was acting like a coon to fit in with the alt rap crowd since the regular rap crowd wasn't messing with him lmao

At least they've heard the music. Dudes put Michael Jordan in their top 5 from YouTube highlights
I don’t know when I was 12 I loved enter the 36 chambers. I loved 90’s New York. Some people just like it but yeah some people be faking it.
