Uh no, maybe most iconic but as discog or technically he’s not even close imo. Also objectively is an empty term
Mental illness as always
yall take yallselves 2 seriously on here i kno u lame asf irl
Biggie had better flow, storytelling and definitely a better ear for beats. He made less music and was less of an icon in rap, but he was every bit his equal as an artist.
All I’m saying is there’s far less of a conversation on biggie being the greatest of all time than there is pac. Biggie is still a great and one of the best. But these dudes were side by side when I was growing up(90s). It’s less of a convo now
You’re right, biggie got legendary flow and two classics. Doesn’t change that he’s fallen behind pac in the greater scheme of things

That’s only because NY rap has fallen off since the 2010’s so nobody repping him that hard like the west coast is doing with Pac
Tupac fans are the Carti fans of their time, just say you wanna f*** the nigga you don’t speak for all hip hop fans nigga, you don’t speak for me!

I think part of it that doesn't get as much discussion is that west coast rap has been on the rise for a little bit and Pac is THE rep for west coast rap, making him more influential on the current scene. NY hate has been more prevalent and I think it's easy to miss Biggie's influence by comparison. I say this as someone from Maryland who was raised on east coast rap

That’s a valid explanation for it. I stand by my statement tho, the reasons for it could be what you mentioned and more

That’s valid, you not wrong about the current stance of the coasts. My only thing is that when it’s all said and done I believe pac will be placed comfortable ahead of biggie and I believe that transition has been slowly taking place over the last two decades

they only gon remember u as my hater
Yup, 2Pac is the greatest rapper of all time.
Not only is he the greatest, he's the most ICONIC and most INFLUENTIAL rapper of all time as well.

When’s the last time someone made a topic about biggie being the greatest of all time? Not even to make this an internet thing, in the general larger culture no one typically says biggie was the greatest of all time. He doesn’t get the same treatment as pac and you know it
Again, big is a legend and one of the greats. But still
"not even an internet thing" - y'all always act like the internet isn't where the real deep convos about music happen anyways… opposite of what you're saying is true, biggie's legacy as a rapper only grew over the years, more and more top 5s including big and leaving pac out
back in the early youtube/forum days the convo was way more one note with the tides slowly shifting as more people looking back in retrospect realized biggie was the better rapper, there's a whole post-2010ish brigade that hopped on that boat once the storm of their deaths calmed down and the convo around them got less emotional and more and more rappers kept citing big as ahead of his time and unparalleled in skill, think push religiously talking about that young gs verse
