    Lool idk maybe I’m just good at cooking but honestly when it’s a job it just turns into any other skill that you have to repeat to get better, such a different world from cooking at home

    Honestly I feel like this is true and I've just been looking at cooking jobs the wrong way. Cause I can't cook for s***, but I was looking at cook jobs. Then again, it's hot as s***, miserable, and comparatively they don't make much so meh.

    Used to be a grill cook 2-3 years ago, f***ing sucked but I had customers staring at me the whole time

    I wouldve been the type of customer to roast yo ass lmao. Be like "yo ol flipping steaks ass nigga 🤣"

    Yeah in the summer it gets pretty real I’ve been dying in there, but if you can find somewhere that pays well then it’s good to be honest, if it’s somewhere busy then hours/overtime are really limitless if you want it

    I started off at $17 without experience in that type of kitchen with a sauté station, elaborate dishes and all that. If you wanted to try it I’d say shoot for the highest class places in your area and just be honest about what you know, if the owner/chef is cool he’ll be excited to teach you s***

    Chef/Line cooks are artists. Nothing but respect for what you guys do. Whether you're a Michelin Star chef or starting out, chefs transcend the cooking space.

    The cleanliness as far as the floor and behind s*** needs to be addressed I just started here a few weeks ago, but that doesn’t carry to the food, probably the most fresh stuff I’ve had to work with in a kitchen. Pretty hectic though as far as the vibe on weekends or late at night but we’re only open until 10:00. I usually work 10-12 hr days lol it’s almost the expectation
    The people are all nice though and carry their weight

    Relatively normal, super old school though I forgot how non pc it gets in jobs like that lol
    This one dude flipped and started throwing pans though on the line during dinner rush on Saturday, almost burned tf out of someone
    He got fired and they said that stuff like that isn’t normal

    Me personally I just remake it, sometimes I’ll feel like it’s bs but I’m not eating off a customers plate to see
    A lot of cooks make a scene though regardless of the reason and blame it on the server

    This is kind of a test but I feel like there has to be a few people on here

    I just came back in the field like 3 weeks ago starting off as a Line Cook

    I recently just got promoted at this fast casual pizza place and now I'm working the oven and leading shifts, s*** sucks, def not worth the $15, but the tips and free pizza everyday is nice.

    I run a kitchen on a golf course. I hate it and can't wait to find my exit from the industry. Cooking used to be one of my favorite things in a world but doing it as a means to living has made me hate it. I just want to enjoy cooking again, lol.
