He's nowhere near mainstream
Of course he's popular because most of the world speaks Spanish but he's not gonna be a top tier artist until he makes songs in English, if you don't understand this you're lost
More like most of America.
He's not my favorite reggaeton artist, hell not even in my top 5-8, but I've never seen a more beloved artist in the island during my lifetime and how he is putting on for us is amazing. He's compared to MJ over here lol Got everybody in the world wanting to come to PR. Still surreal tbh never thought it would get to this and it feels like he's just getting started
He goated fr
His 2016-2017 commercial reggaeton and trap era before the albums need some love too, he killed everything and didnt miss in any single
lol I remember when everybody thought he'd never release and album and just release huge singles and change the game that way
Romeo Santos is the only Spanish language artist I've gotten into so far partly because his music is funny as f*** to me.
I have to give this guy a try at some point, I've watched some of the most dogshit Spanish movies so I should get around to something people actually like
Well welcome back lmao
Before streaming and social media I would've said it's impossible. But I would've said what Bunny and BTS are doing was impossible too so I'm not sure anymore lol
I'm not saying he won't be massive global force (he's already that). I'm saying there's a height he will never surpass in the US because he doesn't speak English in his music. Doesn't mean he won't get bigger in the US before that happens. It just means tht at some point, he'll stop getting bigger in the US as a result of the language barrier.
This is fr one of the best songs I’ve heard all year maybe ever
!https://youtu.be/a5rlgE6dcBYThis is the best song youve ever heard?
This is the best song youve ever heard?
Did I say that
There are millions upon millions of Spanish speakers in the world. And the difference between him and other artists is just how BELOVED he is among the millions of those Spanish speakers. It's unlike any other Latin artist. It's almost like nearly every single member of Latin America isn't just broadly aware of him, but ADORES him. So when you have that many people that spin you at record levels, yeah you can be huge.
Possibly. Historically how do non English artists thrive in American markets? Outside of like Kpop I guess. He’s huge globally but that American market is still a beast in itself
idk about GOAT but In think it’s safe to say that he’s the biggest artist in the world rn and will likely go down as one of the biggest artists of all time
If you dont think he is the goat you prob dont know spanish 😂
I don't know spanish :(
lol I remember when everybody thought he'd never release and album and just release huge singles and change the game that way
Lowkey what Hear this Music wanted him to do, they was blocking him and s***

this is a good thing
You also have to consider his acting career and if he'll lean more into that + wrestling as time goes on.
this is a good thing
Why?
Why?
Reggaeton been diluted enough as it is I don’t wanna open my phone to see a bunch of middle class kids talking about el cacerío and taking cascos
It’s bad enough as it is w the Argentinians and Spaniards putting on a Caribbean costume every time they feel like going viral

Ahhh that’s inevitable unfortunately lol. The bigger BB/reggaeton gets the more b******ized it’ll become
No not at all but he’s f***ing winning though
Got the world in the palm of his hands
The meaning varies from country to country. In Mexico, I believe it means American.
In some other countries, it means people from English-speaking countries.
In my country, it just means foreign.
And its not a slur. Its a slang.
that’s what i was thinking
i know some black people who told me they’ve been called gringo. i guess cause they r black american.
plus sum of these latinos are white themselves so they would technically be gringo too if you think gringo means white
