mfs been around for over 40 years now having major longevity and still putting out classics (age of unreason out now) and got multiple classics under their belt. they are the true goats of punk. and no i don’t wanna hear y’all say Green Day or some s*** cause
I’ve always hated Greg Graffin’s voice. Elder statesmen for sure, Suffer is a landmark pop-punk album, but it’s a no from me, personally. Always liked NOFX better as far as pop-punk/melodic hardcore/whatever title makes the bands/fans most comfortable.
Arguably, sure they’re definitely up there.
I’d go something like Fugazi, Bad Brains or Black Flag tho
f***ed with them heavily as a kid but really they're not that much above the s***ton of Epitaph/Fat Wreck Chords bands of the late 80s/90s

I like Bad Brains and Black Flag way more than Bad Religion but I also can’t really say I like all of either band’s albums; I don’t f*** with much post-80s Brains (Build a Nation is okay), and I really only like three or four songs each on Loose Nut and In My Head.
I hate that I don’t like Fugazi’s music more because I love everything else about how they conducted themselves as a band.

Oh absolutely, both of them have some duds no doubt. Just when I think “best” punk bands, that’s where my mind goes based off the strength of their best material.
Shame about Fugazi, but I get it. It took a bit to click for me but when it did they became one of my favorite bands OAT. Their discog is really strong imo, but admittedly I’m a bit of a Mackaye stan lmao
this man said green day lmao

I think I like at least one song on each album except Steady Diet of Nothing and Red Medicine but only because I haven’t really listened to them. My favorite songs of theirs are "Little Debbie", the "Walken's Syndrome" demo, "Full Disclosure", "Bulldog Front", “Five Corporations” and “Blueprint”.
In no way in hell a us punk band can be the goat. The UK scene runs circles on the best act from the US

Stooges? Ramones? Patti? Who tf uk got lmao John Lydon?
theyre dope but the best melodic hardcore/skate punk band is lagwagon
if you include other sub-genres of punk then bad religion arent top 10
Hell no
