I feel like there is so much surrounding the album (Nobel Peace Prize, NATION) that makes you feel like it is but its not imo

DAMN is kinda like Graduation.
Decent album with bangers but it didn't really revolutionize anything like the rest of his discography.
I would say that it's "technically" a classic because of the reviews, sales, and winning a Pulitzer.
But, if it weren't for those things, most people would've just said it was a decent album but nothing groundbreaking. Even many Kendrick fans I've met irl rank it lower than the rest of his music.
I don't like using the term but DAMN is like the textbook definition of a "forced classic." Rolling Stones Magazine was calling Kendrick the "Best Rapper Alive" before the summer even kicked off.
Still a decent album from a GOAT rapper tho.
