Can you give me a time when the price of an item went up the same time the supply of an item went up?
What lol
It's a close thing to science. Critics are mostly about economists being way too sure of the models and those models constantly ending up being false.
Macro econs tends to be more bullshit than micro
ps: don't take this for bachelors, s***s trash (talking from experience )
Are you saying that truth/facts aren’t necessary to describe the world around us in a consistent, reliable manner?
There are facts of nature. Humans can never discern those facts with complete certainty. Thus, we developed science to describe our world as consistently and reliably as possible. Facts exist. We can never prove they are facts. So we have science. You don't know what science is and are arguing your made up definition that exists only in the minds of the willfully ignorant.
But the continents were moving whether people believed it or not.
Yeah but economics is a social science. It’s supposed to tell us about societies. Something like economics saying people are motivated by their self interests is gonna be prevalent in most if not all societies

What I mean by getting closer and closer to the truth is reducing the margin or error, reducing the uncertainty. Yes, we may never arrive to an absolute truth, but that’s where we are aiming at, aren’t we?
It’s a pseudo-science with unreliable application backed up with often f***ed up ideologies.
It’s basically magic crystals level.

What is a social science? Can science be social?

What if all that economics is telling us is how people react to an ideology?
What is a social science? Can science be social?
Science is the study of something by observation and experimentation.
Social is pertaining to society.
So together we get the study of society by observation and experimentation.
What if all that economics is telling us is how people react to an ideology?
Idk that’s good for society? People follow all sorts of ideologies so knowing how people react to them is a good thing no?
Not really sure what you’re getting at?

Nope.
In this first sentence, you described empiricism.

So Economics study how people react to an ideology, and not how people react to “scientific economic facts”. I believe it’s an important distinction.
dont you think psychology does a better job of that?
My professor micro said Psychology is basically Economics for ppl that don’t care about money.
Nope.
In this first sentence, you described empiricism.
Yeah but even still social science is one the 3 major categories of science
My professor micro said Psychology is basically Economics for ppl that don’t care about money.
That's definitely an oversimplification lol
Braindead thread
Who are braindead, people who believe economics is a science or people who believe it’s an ideology?
Yeah but even still social science is one the 3 major categories of science
