I know some people who run decent sized pages and they all are experiencing the same problems with Instagram destroying their engagement and reach. This issue seems to be affecting everybody and it seems like this is instagram's way of making people pay for ads. Either you pay up or have your page slowly bleed out. It's really f***ed.

Feels like more niche social media platforms like VSCO are becoming more popular now. My biggest problem was doom scrolling

Jul 22, 2021PNWLike earlier this year one of my closest friends literally deleted his IG, saying how he felt uncomfortable about the controversy surrounding his political club he’s in for his University and whatnot. Besides I’ve been losing some followers but then the app showed me they deleted their accts.
Anyone realize this too?
Social Media can be crippling and is unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Jul 22, 2021Tbh I’m thinking of deleting or at least rarely using my Facebook. Insta is so much more positive for me, maybe just cause I’ve been on it less than Instagram and I used to be a downer myself. But I see cool art on Instagram while fb and even Twitter is drama drama drama.

Wouldn't mind if IG became irrelevant. It's the most toxic platform out there IMO.
Jul 22, 2021I only use Snapchats with my homies. Instagram has been really boring. I feel like its making the same mistakes FB did and its becoming more ad-oriented. I tried TikTok but it isnt really my type of humor.

In some sense IG is turning into Facebook now, in the sense where mainly people are on there to be in contact with their family and market/run their business. It’s not even enjoyable to use instagram anymore, especially with how they f***ed up the app and companies raped it with ads.
Tik Tok is more in the vein of Vine, but like you said the youngsters are turning more towards that app now. For your reference I’m 22 and joined IG back in middle school, I tell you s*** has changed so much
Ah you were saying the same s***. I can see myself not using any social media in a few years. Ktt2 cool because we have some common interests but beyond that idk

I agree completely. I joined IG during its inception in undergrad, so you’re much younger than me 😂. Yeah it’s changed a lot, let’s just say people have overstayed their welcome on there and COVID really showed who has a personality and who doesn’t. It’s a good app..just kinda useless at this point

goddessi havent deleted mine but i dont use it any more... i post a story every few weeks and check my DMs but i dont even have the app downloaded.
social media is too much for me now, i really don't like telling all my business and having people see whats going on in my life. i also hate how everyone is either 100% happy (insta) or 100% miserable/terrible (twitter). i only use forums now
same. feel like it honestly comes in part of growing up / maturing
