We almost half way into the decade n it just seems like.....ehhhh
Even down to the dudes who a "moving the culture" a whole bunch of late 30s and 40 year olds.
The biggest album to drop this year came from a 40 year old and a beef between two dudes pushing 40.
Where the f*** are the new stars? Why is the 2010's generation still so dominant in the 2020s?
How come no new stars have risen to even at least early Kendrick,Drake, Cole, Big Sean level?
WTF IS GOING ON
Just do better research , you will find something new and interesting

One of the main reasons why I keep making this thread over and over again throughout the ages
Is cause I want you guys to recommend these "new guys" that im missing. Or "listening in the wrong place" for.
They never get posted....
Be honest, even if we did you wouldn't check any of them out
You just chatting. You just witnessed the biggest rap beef in history. The veterans are more captivating than the rookies in that front.

yall always give the same stupid answers. not able to discuss anything on a deeper level.
yes hip hop is in a bad state when the same heroes from 2011 are still ruling. all these Gunnas, Wunnas, Lil Babies just aren't exciting at all. And the 2017 Migos/Thugger/Lil Uzi wave sadly didn't manage to stay relevant.

what is the current wave then? (not talking about the rap beef)
I'll be honest, album wise I don't think this year has been all that great so far (Mach album is fantastic and probably my favorite this year)
The beef was insane though and there's good stuff on the horizon
You’re right it is boring. People are going to point out some obscure SoundCloud rapper as having dropped a classic but there’s no new goats or stars and few people keeping hip hop on the charts. And on the charts in ways that aren’t the same drill track remade.
The people still making actual waves are nearing 40+ and they’re retiring soon. Potential stars don’t have any want or incentive to improve their pen and make lasting music because of streaming and fast money. Combine that with half of them dying or going to prison.
The beef proved hip hop is on its way out because when’s the last time people were arguing and dissecting bars? For a playboy carti album?
I swear some of y'all dont even like music, its all about being caught up in some cultural "moment" that probably ain't got nothin to do with you. thats just hypebeasting with additional steps.
ppl put people onto smaller rap artists bc this is a rap discussion forum and it's generally agreed upon that we all like hiphop
