"Bitch I thought that was Future's song" - Game @ Durk
Most of the biggest guys who got knocked for biting Future ended up making their own way but that was a thing. The most damning cases were just random nameless guys all over YouTube as usual.
That shouldn’t be a measurement of determining something is good or better than something though lmao if anything it’s should make people realize that it’s so heavily imitated because it’s simple. Not many people can make a great record like GKMC. I’m tired of mfs using impact and influence as a measurement for music being good

Keep me out of that convo lol.
As a purveyor of nameless YouTube rap I can vouch for the trends though.
If you a KTT nerd maybe
First 3 Ye albums still gettin spun while TPAB a one year classic
Bro that s*** holds a high place for me. Mr. Morale just feels like part 2 of that to me, he was revealing a lot on OD, no concepts just straight bars. It don’t get the love it deserves
Gonna spin this today off the strength of this convo

I think influence is valued because it's one of the only metrics we get to see outside of sales and awards. Art being heavily subjective makes it hard in "determining if something is good" because good is different for everybody. Influence isn't something we should write off

Something can be influential and not be good though and that’s my point lol
Btw Monster is an amazing tape but it’s not even close to being as good as GKMC not matter how more influential it is
I never noticed how Kenny tends to use the same colors for his projects .
He usually uses greens, blacks, and browns
"mr morale is a 100/100"

actual music "critic" and score
Mind finally telling us why you don’t like the album? lol
Kanye’s first 10 years was dropping back to back classics every 2-3 years. No artist past or present is matching that run
But I want to add influence doesn't make someone better. Let's say Future is more influential than Kendrick. I feel like that's an objective statement. But that doesn't mean he's better. Influence doesn't equal better it's a separate argument imo. I do see people conflating them tho as if influence means better
