But I want to add influence doesn't make someone better. Let's say Future is more influential than Kendrick. I feel like that's an objective statement. But that doesn't mean he's better. Influence doesn't equal better it's a separate argument imo. I do see people conflating them tho as if influence means better
I think @HavenPB makes a very valid point about certain styles of music being easier to emulate than others. Do you think Yeat, Uzi, Yachty etc could make a TAOPP or SABMIDAT even if they tried? Or is it easier to just hop in the studio and do some autotune crooning and mumbling?
Once you consider that, influence means very little in the grand scheme
The Kendrick Lamar and OD tapes are unlistenable garbage
Section 80 is one of Kendrick’s best and I still consider Donda better than it
GKMC is immensely overrated due to individual songs working well in the album but are boring as hell on their own (Real, Good Kid, Art of Peer Pressure). Definitely wouldn’t even crack Kanye’s top 5
TPAB is fantastic and is his only album that truly would be considered at the level of a top tier Kanye album
DAMN is fine but in terms of the counterpart to Kanye’s big mainstream album (Graduation), I’m easily taking Graduation over it.
The Black Panther soundtrack is dogshit lmao
Untitled Unmastered is cool but it’s not close to kanyes best albums
Mr Morale is garbage and is as bad as JIK and Ye
Kendrick is no where near Kanye’s discography and never will be
What a garbage post
I was thinking about this last night when I came to the realization that Mr. Morale is better than Donda 1 and 2 but that got me thinking has Ye done anything since 2010 that can hold a candle to Kendrick? KSG is up there but not much else. Who has more classic?
not 1 like
impressive
Ye's music is more instantly gratifying and addicting. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to Kendrick
I wanna say yes because Kendrick is miles ahead of Kanye as a rapper and his artistic vision really is on par with prime Kanye, but Kanye wins this only because how much he's produced for other artists which adds to his discography.
Kendrick the more consistent artist and I can expect him to deliver something miles better than Ye' could at this point.
it’s solid but i don’t think kendrick has anything as good as Late Registration. with that being said he also doesn’t have albums as bad as Ye and Donda

I think there's a difference between influence as emulation and influence as inspiration. Sometimes there's overlap, sometimes there isn't. Like 808s inspired guys like Uzi and Juice but I don't think anyone would say they were trying to emulate it
Says a white kid
What does being white have to do with drake making fast food music LOL
We don’t have to hold our tongue for Kanye stans anymore
They have no squad, no money, no weapons they are weak now.
Big Steppers are on top now
I never noticed how Kenny tends to use the same colors for his projects .
He usually uses greens, blacks, and browns
Makes sense. Those tend to be the colors of his music.
Because ye is a f***ing ego maniac of course he would say he’s the greatest artist to ever live, it doesn’t mean he’s right
Lol so is lil Wayne an ego maniac for saying he’s the best rapper of all time?
I bet Kendrick himself would say his music isn’t as good as prime Kanye. Or Snoop. Or Eazy.
You just using that argument for when it suits your agenda but you don’t actually believe it
