People are over the preachy, holier than thou, surface level sociopolitical commentary rap that Gimmrick releases — the trend reached its peak with Macklemore, and has died down since. Really the only impact it has is payola twitter accounts tweeting “KING KENDRICK IS BACK. I CAN’T BELIEVE HE SAID THIS!” only for them to forget about the song just mere hours later.
Very sad! He chose to go the preachy route on Mr Snore/Boreale and it backfired, while the likes of Drake released several projects that were enjoyed en masse, outside, internationally.
“holier than thou” when the whole album is about how he’s no different than any regular person lmao
Nothing ab the album felt self righteous, but when someone is stupid, their insecurities make themselves believe they’re being attacked
Oh wow did I just take the Jester seriously
big steppers died cuz charbit pushed back the steroids to 2023

If y’all really want people to forget about this horrible, horrible album, stop talking about it!
If no one listens to it, let it fade naturally if it’s so forgotten from the public’s mind. Why do we need a constant reminder of how much y’all don’t like this damn album? Lmao
Lmao right imagine saying an artist sucks and came and went but still spending all your time talking about him. They’re obsessed

I think the rise of podcasts and streamers led to the downfall of rappers like Macklemore and Gimmrick. Those who enjoy lectures get their preaching from somewhere else now, so they’re back to listening to music for entertainment instead of enlightenment.
Y'all throw that term around too often...
If he lost his technicality & capability of crafting a song, then yeah... He's washed.
But I didn't hear any of that on "MM&TBS".
Dude sounds better than ever.
Sales/popularity of a record =/= the quality of the product.
Ye's a good example of being washed.
best example
but ktt like to tip toe around this
Album just isn’t s*** compared to his earlier work
Inb4 "Drake album from 2021 ran 2022" posts but yeah, Mr Morale did alright
Let’s be real - the most shocking thing on that list is Eminem’s 20 year old album coming in at number 3? How tf
He was always gonna sell out his first tour in 5 years. It didn't help the album. That's my point.
idk man its the 2nd most streamed rap album of the year on spotify but i guess that doesn’t matter either
Washed, no.
Boring, yes.
what you find boring is obviously subjective. if you find the same rap song over and over again about guns, hoes d****, killing people, etc exciting and fun, then kendrick just aint for you
Album just isn’t s*** compared to his earlier work
disagree. it's right up there with his other work IMO
Honest question… why don’t mods close obvious bait threads? This is like the 3-4th similar thread this week.
Everytime it’s just a drake vs Kendrick stan war and its not interesting anymore
