I think the color thing is dumb especially if you don’t look like a gang member. I guarantee you will not be going to those hoods anyway. I lived near LA throughout college and it was fine even though I was next to “the most dangerous city” in LA. It has gotten alot better since past years and I think people just have a fear mongering idea of the city.

there are areas less safe than others but all in all ive been everywhere here and never felt real unsafe
