It's a big city, it is what it is. Avoid eye contact in public spaces and don't do stupid s*** and you'll probably be no worse off than in any other major metro area.

those are the bare minimum rules tbh. always surprised ppl need to be told those things

I stay in DTLA, the environment can switch up easily depending on what part you’re in but it’s not like a “scary” switch but a sad switch. Goes from big apartment buildings with tourists to all homeless tents and people with carts begging for money, not really scary though.

You can go from LA Live, modern high rises, to skid row, to Little Tokyo in the span of like 2 miles lol

Moving to SD in two months

You’ll like it. Right downtown now and I love my place. Only thing that sucks is the damn row of tents outside. Paying too much for this place to look like skid row

Pb if you love the beach or on that college party vibe. North park is dope and has a hip vibe to it. little Italy is a bit upper scale and people of all ages out.
    Enjoy your stay

  • Sep 9, 2022

If you really that concerned just stay West

Downtown LA looks like 70s/80s Manhattan. It’s a sketchy ass area with sky scrapers
