This is a question that's been on my mind for a while now because I really really hate dusthead music. But the more I think about it the more I notice that if I had a choice, I 'd rather listen to old rock since there's an actual cadence and rhythm instead of old rappers which basically talk while rhyming over a beat. Does that make sense?
Why isn't old rock called dusty too?
it is sometimes
Absolutely. Old rock songs literally be sounding like they could've come out a few years ago.
the equivalent to the 80s "dusty" rap would be 50s rock

Everytime my girl puts me on to some old rock or alt rock I be shook how long ago some of the s*** came out. Like Fleetwood Mac, not necessarily rock, but damn if that s*** hasn't aged like wine and came out in the mf 70's and 80's
Idk man, people who still listen to KISS and say it’s better than popular music now

!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHG5-GxI_EsI can agree with this, but I’d add that the 50’s rock produced more songs that aged better than 80’s rap
