I think dusty rock dates further than what most people here are thinking.
100%
Live instrumentation obviously gonna age pretty decent compared to old rap which used very outdated technology by todays standards
Not only that, but MCs in the 80s figuring out flows and things like that.
Flows back then were almost all like bunny hops.
Idk man, people who still listen to KISS and say it’s better than popular music now
I worked with a fat dude at Stanley steemer who did nothing there but clean the f***in rugs and when I was stuck working with him all he would do was repeat the same stupid stories about KISS over and over and over again
That dude was so weird. Has a big ass KISS tattoo on his back and he keeps trying to get the band to sign his back for him to tattoo their signatures onto him
KISS fans are a special f***in breed man
Not only that, but MCs in the 80s figuring out flows and things like that.
Flows back then were almost all like bunny hops.
Yeah you cant compare peak rock from the 70s to a completely unknown genre that would only begin to develop in the 80s.
Now comparing peak rock to peak hip hop is a totally different story we can all agree I think.
This > the weirdos who stick their tongue out
"Old hip hop sounds dusty“
sounds pretty dusty to me
Interesting question but 80’s rap was the birth of hip hop so you would have to go to the birth of rock and roll which I call that pre sgt peppers days. Because that album really changed what rock music could be. Then came the classic rock era I guess that would be 90’s hip hop that era probably ends with get rich or die trying. If you want to compare 80’s hip hop I guess it be like run dmp being The Beach Boys of hip hop?
Deja Vu sounds dusty?!
I‘m out
there's not really any rhythm to the vocals and the beats very repetitive. TO ME. listen to whatever you want though lol.
sounds pretty dusty to me
Because you correlate boom bap to dust. You don't listen to punk rock do you?? Because it sounds dated and it was merely a blueprint. I know people who listen to punk rock but most will outgrow it at some point. I think boom bap sounds p good for how old it is and nas was definitely ahead of his time.
