Jun 29, 2020·1 replygnarlynastyI think it’s a huge statement when an artist can make let’s say a 100 min long album and keep your attention almost all throughout with different sounds,subjects etc. I think producing a proper double album takes a huge team effort from the producers,engineers,mixers etc and it only works if the artist truly has something to say in his music.
Need a Kenny double album btw
for me I feel like the main reason i'd want a double album is either because the concept is so heavy, the two halves mean something different (like outkast) or i think the most exciting one, is when it's just a licence to try whatever the artist wants like the Beatles' white album. If you make a double album you can get in everything people are expecting from you and then make songs in as many different styles as you want. I feel like Ye tapped into that energy on Pablo even tho that's not a double album because it's only actually like 15-17 songs, it feels like one in spirit.

there hasn't been a double kenny album but you did sort of get a companion album with uu, which was great. it came out a year later which was cool too as tpab had already been listened to and dissected endlessly
