its a classic but its not as good as stuff like Goodfellas

No one really has it rated higher than Goodfellas but it is still a classic.

An example of a cult classic would be Carlitos Way.

For the impact it’s had on culture yea. But when I actually watched the movie for the first time, it ain’t live up to the hype. I was like 16-17 by the time I got around to seeing it so maybe all the pop culture references dimmed it down to me.

Other than Ice T’s horrible acting, New Jack City made a way bigger impression on me, but then again I watched that when I was like 8-9.

I was disappointed when I watched it

I'd just watched Goodfellas and The Godfather trilogy when I saw it for the first time, and although it had great moments and shots that are iconic for a reason, it just felt less than its parts. It was fun but def not a masterpiece in my eyes and something about how the story progressed felt a lil clunky to me

  • To me it is. Notice more and more people starting to hate on it tho

  • Nexizimas

    F*** op and ANTI it's a f***ing classic

Sup with the ANTI hate lately?

De Palma made strictly classics in the 70s/80s

  • May 26, 2020

Probably the most enduring exploitation movie even though it’s not often categorized as one, only Superfly/Texas Chainsaw/Friday the 13th have a claim to that title

    King Joffrey

Cult of mentally ed hypebeast and wanna be gangsters.

People that havent seen the movie know tony Montana cause he's nothing more than a glorified meme, Tony was apsychopatic cocaine addict for christs sake.

Soundtrack might have been great but the sound effects were crap, cheese ambient synths meant to mask the s***ty dialogs and acting.

F*** Supreme and Vlone, they have zero authority when it comes to rating movies.

Yes people quote and yes it has a great influence on the culture, but objectively it doesnt mean s*** other than that we as society glorify violence and greed.

Just because your dumbass doesn’t like the movie, doesn’t mean you’re the one that can call the shots if this is a classic or not.

You’re just some goofy on a forum.

    The 7 Day Theory

Classic lines and scenes but not a classic movie to me but a large amount feel it’s classic...which is not wrong.

    So it’s a classic then

  • May 26, 2020

Didnt enjoy the movie once I got older but it certainly is

  • May 26, 2020

    How is it not ?

Not my favorite Al role but it's a classic

  • May 26, 2020

Not one person bringing up that the movie is intentionally cheesy in spots because it’s attempting to comment on the excesses of the 80’s. The entire thing is borderline a satire like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Half the s*** OP is complaining about are intentional self aware directorial choices.
