the average african immigrants coming and taking SAT/ACT in USA are smarter than the average black american.

I mean, it's because mostly African immigrants made it rich in their own home countries (Nigerians have the most wealth as an immigrant group), and had opportunities to increase their education back home, due to wealth, before coming state-side.

You can't discount the experiences African-Americans go through, with things about African immigrants.

There seems to be a lot of contempt between both native Africans and the Western diaspora, due to the disconnect.

Schooling in general is oppressive, White teachers in the hood won’t ever end well for the students, plus the School to Prison pipeline and the draconian treatment of Students that act up in class that deserve help and not punishment. From Kindergarten to 12th grade the School System in these Inner-City schools treat the children as Future Criminals instead of Vessels of Knowledge

Yes, also America funds its public education through property tax in the area, which means poor areas will get schools lacking in resources and rich areas will get schools with plenty of resources.

Vultures representing private school interests are trying to cut funding to public education under the guise of "school choice", when we should be funding all our public schools well, regardless of the area.

And in no way am I belittling that.

But in return, I'd like for them and for people like you, to not belittle the trauma and s*** from the past that has actively affected US in this same country as well to this day.

All I'm saying is, there is a legitimate advantage of coming to America as a foreigner and finally experiencing the advantages that a regular lower class African American already probably dealt with prior to foreigners have and seen how White America will destroy those same advantages (once again, I bring up Black Wall Street) and seen how those deliberately set generations of African American families back.

So yes. Pulling the "Africans do better than African Americans" card when the latter is still dealing with obstacles and environmental dangers that come from being in (and RAISED from) these American hoods in comparison to somebody that don't have all those years/decades of dealing with the systemic and colonial American failures of these African American-specific issues (it's still harder for us as to get loans versus immigrants in general https://www.marketplace.org/2020/06/26/black-applicants-more-likely-be-denied-mortgages/ ) is dumb asf lol.....

What about that is hard to comprehend?

    Very true.

Washington DC has highers spending per student than all 50 states but doesnt have higher outcomes etc.

throwing money at it wont solve the problems. you can take all the students from the "best high school" and switch them with all the students from the "worst highschool" and nothing will change.

a lot of it is cultural. a lot of people just dont like school or dont want to do the work.

If you want to make the "culture" argument, what causes that culture to develop? Systemic oppression and poverty. Helping out these underlying issues and helping these communities prosper would help education immensely.

Unless you think black people are genetically inferior, there is nothing else you can say.

no black people are not genetically inferior... dont know why you would suggest that.

    POOM POOM DOOM

Wasn't the SATs confirmed to be a eugenics test?

The SAT was created as an intelligence test, part of a mania for such testing in the early 1900s spurred by an unprecedented wave of nonwhite immigration. The nation’s white Anglo-Saxon Protestant leaders wanted a way to sort the new arrivals. Some of the immigrants, they assumed, were good people. They would use intelligence tests to distinguish these from the feeble-minded, the imbeciles, etc. In 1923, Carl Brigham of Princeton University published A Study of American Intelligence, in which he wrote that testing showed the superiority of “the Nordic race group” and warned of the “promiscuous intermingling” of these new immigrants in the American gene pool. Shortly after the book’s publication, the College Board commissioned him to lead development of the SAT, which debuted in 1926.

I am not suggesting that at all, stop trying to pivot.

I'm just saying, if you deny what I listed what causes that culture to develop, you have nothing else to turn to, except saying that non-whites are inherently inferior, which is what neo-nazis/"paleo-conservatives"/"right-wing libertarians" do.

you keep lumping non whites as one group when they are not.

I agree poverty plays a small part in academic and testing performance

they're both arbitrary ranking systems which enforce hierarchy, which can be argued to be oppressive towards certain racial/ethnic/less financially well-off groups.

A small part? Are you f***ing kidding me?

It's one of the biggest determiners of performance.

I forgot, right-wingers deny the existence/impact of systemic problems and only say to the poor person working 3 jobs to make the bare-minimum "lol just work harder bro, put up your bootstraps like my daddy did"

you can study during free periods study halls, on the bus, before after school etc. some people are just naturally gifted to.

most people dont even study for act/sat you just go to school and learn.

i said it was a small part its just not the end all be all
